Installed this ROM on my U9GTV and it actually solved a RAM problem that I had.

Correction to this statement above: Flashing the ROM did not actually solve the problem. I had the same RAM problem (reporting 1GB instead of 2GB) again and flashing the ROM again did not solve it. So I went back on the steps I did before and realized that in my attempt to counter the problem, I installed a RAM swapping app just before flashing the ROM. So this time I installed the RAM swap app again, set it up the same way I did previously, and then flashed the ROM. Problem solved.

I believe this ROM configures the tab for 16GB. Cannot help to fix that other than looking for a 32GB ROM.

Here is an Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean rooted firmware for the XORO PAD 9720QR tablet. It is based on an update dated 2014/01/23 and might work on other RK3188 Retina like tablets such as XORO PAD 9719QR, Visture V97 HD, Vido Yuandao N90FHDRK, Cube U9GT5, Hyundai X900. Update 2014/01/29: confirmed to work on N90FHDRK by Tiemichael

(9720update0123.img)

Build information:

Kernel: Linux version 3.0.36+ (root@ubuntu-0A) (gcc version 4.4.3 (GCC) ) #138 SMP PREEMPT Tue Jan 7 14:38:08 CST 2014

Android 4.2.2 JB: rk31sdk/rk31sdk/rk31sdk:4.2.2/PAD 9720QReng.chenzy.20130624.103346:eng/opinions-on-teclast-p90hdst-keys

ro.rksdk.version=PAD 9720QR_4.2.2_20140109_ZZ

Custom firmware features:

  • root with latest SuperSU version 1.91 (free version)
  • removed most Chinese and unnecessary applications
  • Google Play Store fixes so more application are visible/compatible
  • updated busybox v1.21.0.git (2012-11-29)
  • Unix like init.d boot scripts support, more details on init.d scripts here
  • changed permissions on external sdcard to allow write access
  • increased space for applications (/data partition) to 4 GB
  • kernel modules (cifs, tun, lan, serial, xpad) compiled by Oma & Crew RKTablets, thank guys!

Download: kasty-xoro-pad9720qr-422-20140123-rooted4.zip

Flash with Rockchip Batch Tool version 1.7, use Restore button.

Please report any problem with this firmware, I can't verify this custom firmware works as I don't have a compatible tablet to test the custom firmware.

Hey there' im using this Firmware on my Xoro 9719QR and it runs fine. No Moore lags and all applications running AS quick AS nevwe before

Hi and many thanks for the rom, by far the smoothest for my xoro 9719QR tab, compared to all recent (KK) roms i tried.

couple of issues though..

- the time in the notification area is off-sync with system time. Shortly after the tablet boots, the time stops updating. However, in the settings->datetime it's always correctly displayed. I noticed that when the tab sleeps, time in the notification area resumes update (offset is less), but still not correctly synced. I have set the right timezone for me, and both auto datetime/time zone are checked. I have also updated the build.prop with the right region/locale/time zone, still no luck

- play store got updated to the new version on install. it works. But app updates, installing new apps, hangs some where at 80%/90% download and stops there. a reboot helps to resume the download and install. cleared playstore/services/download cache, uninstalled playstore update, still the same issue. downloads do not finish..

any advice?

no other issues; flashed the rom couple of times, still no luck :( any advice?

This is an old tablet now, so not sure if anybody is still looking at it.

I'm not sure if it's Rom related, but i have never been able to get the mini hdmi port to work when connecting to my tv.

Is there something I need to turn on? I have a mini-hdmi to hdmi adapter that I use for another tablet so I know the adapter works. But when I connect my U9GT5 to the tv, there is no signal to the TV.

In my settings, there is an HDMI setting, which is set to on, but nothing displays on my TV.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!.

Can anybody confirm that iconBIT NetTAB SPACE QUAD RX, NT-0902S is a further clone of XORO 9719/20?

So kasty-xoro-pad9720qr-422-20140123-rooted4.zip will work on that (incl. BT and Ethernet)?

According http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=558115&view=findpost&p=31430475 it seems to be.

Thank you!  Right, it work now on my iconbit but bluetooth distance is limited to just 2m, also on original fw. Is there a chance to improve that by other fw? How is your BT quality? Known issue?
