Since they told us rk3188 could possibly get Android KitKat im waiting for a release that runs on v97hd, 97RQ, N90FHD or identical tablets.

Yep, it's definitively new firmware.

ArcTablet ROM is based on 20131120, while Visture gave us 20131206.

Can we have newest firmware cooked up by You, dear Admin? :)

Maybe it fixes some problems with tablet (I mean hang-ups, that frequently occur on 20131120, and they weren't present on 20131010).

If you read the Android and kernel build dates in post #1, you'll clearly see it dates from November, not July.

As for that 20131206 firmware, I believe it points to the same firmware I modified for post #1.

If anyone wants to install 12/06 firmware and check build dates... I will rebuild a custom firmware if it's newer than release 20131120 covered in this topic.

Cheers.

After using it on a hyundai x x900 for a few  hours the tablet has stopped booting anymore. At first it was getting stuck  on the circle logo of arctablets. It gave me only one chance to reflash it.. I flashed the same firmware and since then It responds  only when I give it power. it shows visture on the center and most of the time stays like that. Maybe after a minute gets black and do that again but for sure never boots up  . Computer does not do any sound when  inserting the usb. A have tried other usb ports and other usb cables . It's the same computer that I flashed it before.

Is there a reset button ? Is there any other way to flash this tablet ? It's brand new and I want to send it back to China but it would be better if I could flash again the original firmware.

Thank you

Solved

I managed to wake it up by inserting usb and power  and after holding down the volume up button.  I flashed the original firmware and it started working again.

Hello Hartmut,

The firmware download path says PAD9720QR, do you know if this firmware is compatible with the 9719 QR ?

Cheers.

In the Xoro forum they say they will publish a Version for the 9719 the Next days.

But for me the Rom works very well for the first 6 hours on my 9719QR.

That's good to know Wink

I'll publish a custom firmware for the PAD9720QR shortly, then another one for the PAD9719QR when it's available, please let me know when Xoro does publish it.

Cheers.

Biggest improvement for me is the WLAN  stability.

You will get a reply when it is official available from xoro.

Best

I have posted a custom firmware based on the XORO PAD9720QR update from 2014/01/23.

kathat confirmed the PAD9720R firmware to work on the PAD9719QR tablet as well, so it might be compatible with other RK3188 tablets (Visture V97 HD, Vido Yuandao N90FHDRK, Cube U9GT5, Hyundai X900).

Please report in the new topic:

Cheers.

Folks,

What is the typical RAM usage that one should see when this ROM is freshly installed (Using RKBatchTool 1.7).?

I have developed two RAM related issues on my U9GTV.

1. Freshly flashed it shows that I have a total of only 1.00 GB of RAM (instead of the 2.00GB of the platform)

2. With no additional apps installed it shows that I have less than 80MB (8%) of RAM available.

In comparison my Nexus 7 running kitkat with lots of Apps installed shows a usage of approx 50% of the available 1.0GB of RAM.

Is this perhaps a corrupted RAM manager in the boot.img?  Any pointers will be highly appreciated.
