I've just installed it on the cube 9gtv quad core. Seems fine. I updated the market etc to the newer version through arctools, then had the battery problem. I installed the older version, again through arctools, and the problem went away. I'm not an expert at this but I'm guessing the problem lies somewhere with the versions of pre installed apps. Maybe try different versions and see if the problem disappears? (I had the power cord plugged in while reverting, may be important). Try version 2.2.7 on the cube 9gtv quad core (retina).

I've also come across the problem of the tablet not going into recovery (coming from TNT rom). The following worked for me: Turn tablet off, turn rockchip firmware tool on, connect to pc, boot tablet normally, wait for a couple of minutes until pc asks for drivers, flash as you normally would.

Thanks for the rom and keep up the good work!

Is there any way to install this rom in CWM?  I have a Dragon Touch R97 and I can't get the rockchip batch tool to recognize my tablet when in recovery mode.  Yes I've tried installing the proper drivers as I am using Win7 x64...I even tried the auto installer along with just forcing it to use rk29 30 and 31 drivers.

had same problem, on winXP 32bit no problem, on w7 64bit problem with recognizing the device, doesn't matter if in ADB mode or not => what helped ? connecting to USB 2.0 instead 3.0. weird but works now. sometimes even in USB2.0 cannot be recognized => I leave it connected to USB2.0 and reboot tablet and suddenly it is recognized. try it ;)

Here is an Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean rooted firmware for the Visture V97 HD tablet...
Please report any problem with this firmware, I can't verify this custom firmware works as I don't have a Visture V97HD tablet to test the custom firmware.

great work, thanks a lot ! I have Visture V97HD since february 2013 and I have had unstable wifi until I tried this latest ROM from you. seems to be fine now, I have to test it much more but since yesterday's flash it's stable and wifi is OK, antutu almost 18000 like with older image, have to use nova launcher to get absolutely fluent environment behavior while in retina HD mode (same like before) but now I can use CWM 6.x.x and don't have to root it manually again ;) USB mass storage works fine. what I wish is to use and recognize EXT2/3/4 filesystem for SD card and USB storage. I don't know why manufacturers don't include EXT native support into kernel even if the OS is running on EXT filesystem, I don't want to use FAT32/NTFS nor exFAT :(

I've the same problem: usb port doesn't work anymore on my U9GT5 tablet. The rest of the system works properly. If I try to access the device (both with recovery or full OS) i get the follwing dmesg output:

[  198.895013] usb 5-2:new full-speed USB device number 15using ohci_hcd
[  199.034808] usb 5-2: device descriptor read/64, error -62

[  199.900813] usb 5-2: device descriptor read/64, error -62

[  201.090216] hub 5-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 2

In my case seems to be a low-level device problem

This is the best ROM I have experienced -  fast and stable!

My N90FHDRK had/has some NAND-Flash problems, forcing me to re-install the ROM every other day. This ROM also shows some of these problems, but significantly less.

Nevertheless re-installing via CWM would allow me to re-flash anytime/anywhere even if there is no PC around.

How can this ROM be converted, so that re-flash via CWM is possible?

Didn't you RMA it? I have same problems and will return my unit tomorrow...

I bought it directly at a shop in China, and I sent it back to the factory a couple of months ago, but it never arrived there. Luckily it was returned after 3 months in some Chinese post-office.

The problem is: Vido / Yuandao only accepts local (=chinese) RMA, does not send overseas, and (not sure about this) is also not doing any incoming custom-clearance.

I could try to send again, but it's too much hassle and risk, so I accept to re-install the FW every once in a while. All my data is on an external SD-card, which also holds back-ups of all the apps, so re-flashing and re-installation takes 30 min or so.

(with all other ROMs I tried over the last 8 months, I had to re-install at least once per day! my last re-flash with THIS FW was about 2 weeks ago!)

Hi, I just tested this rom on my Cube U9gt5V_quad. This is a great job!

Everything works fine, even the USB mass storage :-D

I installed CWM and make a backup here : kasty-visture-v97hd-422-20131120-rooted4_backup-CWM.zip

To install it, your tablet must have the CWM recovery :
- Unzip the file
- Put the folder on the memory in /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/
- Boot on CWM
- Select "backup and restore"
- Select "restore"
- Select "kasty-visture-v97hd-422-20131120-rooted4"
- Select "yes - restore"

wait a few minutes ... enjoy

The following users say thank you to ShereKhan for this useful post:

Great! Thank you!

Now I am able to re-flash and re-install my N90FHDRK without access to a PC!

Thank you very much! Smart trick!
The usb port doesn't work even with the new firmware so it's definitively an hardware fault. Anyway now I'm able to run the last version!

ShereKhan,

Thought jojo1907 talked about a "newer" Firmware.

Thanks for your reply.
