New Official UG802 firmware JB 4.0.1
Two weeks ago I said few words about "they never will release JB for UG802 so soon or..."
I was wrong ! They worked on JB firmware for us and now new firmware is available for download !
Here is the link to download:
I have mirrored the original file here: ug802_4.0-4.1.rar
and a repacked version if just the necessary update.img: UG802-JB-20121112.zip
Flash with Rockchip flasher
I have tested the 4.1 update image.
It boots, shows Android 4.1.1 version, details here:
Kernel: Linux version 3.0.8+ (zw@tv-server) (gcc version 4.4.3 (GCC) ) #1 SMP PREEMPT Mon Nov 12 15:22:30 CST 2012
Android Build: rk30sdk/rk30sdk/rk30sdk:4.1.1/JRO03H/eng.zw.20121112.153208:eng/opinions-on-teclast-p90hdst-keys
But no Wi-FI so far
EDIT: Wi-FI works after a reboot
Works fine, has bluetooth ethernet wi-fi options. Wi-fi work fine. No blue screen settings menu more, all settings original jelly bean. very nice firmware at first moment. yes, root with thats method [zhuodashi]
After testing one day, there are a problems: After some inactive time system go to black screen-solution, cold restarting. winamp player not working. Ehomemediacenter after watching movies and exit, crashing and restarting system.
Well, not so good for usage so going back to ibex UG802+ firmware
Hello all If I'm wrong, please correct me!
Be careful! There is a new version of UG802, (lets call it UG802-V2) and this firmware might kill the WiFi and the Bluetooth. This is what happened with me. Not forever, but the drivers are different I think, and this version is not good for them. I red the Imito MX1 firmware might have the correct drivers for the new version.
Maybe I'm wrong, but also be careful with using the 4.1.1 firmware on the older UG802. It might contain the new versions driver ... I don't know. (If you use "Restore" with Rockchip_Batch_Tool)
This is how the UG802-V2 look like.

(If you have WiFi problems, like not connecting, or connect but no Internet, then follow this)
(You need to get the WiFi antenna out of the box)
