Here is an Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean rooted firmware for the Measy U4B quad-core MiniPC based on latest Measy release from 2013/07/18.

Build information:

Kernel: Linux version 3.0.36+ (imtqc@imt-server) (gcc version 4.6.x-google 20120106 (prerelease) (GCC) ) #41 SMP PREEMPT Thu Jul 18 17:25:44 CST 2013

Android 4.2.2 JB: rk31sdk/rk31sdk/rk31sdk:4.2.2/JDQ39/eng.imtqc.20130717.185112:eng/opinions-on-teclast-p90hdst-keys

Custom firmware features:

  • root with latest SuperSU version 1.41 (free version)
  • removed most Chinese and unnecessary applications
  • Google Play Store fixes so more application are visible/compatible
  • updated busybox v1.21.0.git (2012-11-29)
  • Unix like init.d boot scripts support, more details on init.d scripts here
  • changed permissions on external sdcard to allow write access
  • increased storage space for applications (/data partition) to 3 GB

Download: kasty-measy_u4b-422-20130718_rooted3.zip

Please flash with Rockchip Batch Tool 1.7, use Restore button.

Please report any problem with this firmware, I can't verify this custom firmware works as I don't have a Measy U4B device to test the custom firmware.

Flashing thru SDCard probably won't work because of the modified apps storage partition (now 3 GB)

You need to flash with Rockchip Batch Tool 1.7, use Restore button.

I can confirm this works fine. Bluetooth keyboard finally working okay and wireless not dropping (yet!).

What it doesn't do is read my 64gb exfat formated SDXC chip. Can you add exFAT support? (https://github.com/rxrz/exfat-nofuse

The method I used to update my U4B was to short out one of the pins as described here

Hi guys,

After some issues with my 3 weeks old Measy U4B, it didn't startup anymore. It kept on looping on the R-Box logo.

I've downloaded this build and reinstalled the custom firmware.

It all works perfect! My Measy starts up again. Easy as a cup of coffee :)

Thanks very much!

Somebody try to flash this rooted firmware from SD card?

In order to flash this firmware we MUST to disassemble Measy U4B ?
How to do this?

Any other ways to get root ?

No, you don`t need to dismember the tablet.

Measy U4B haven't any buttons (ie recovery, power, reset etc) and in order to get to the FLASHING mode, need to short pins inside of device.

So, if not, please tell me how to flash it w/o disassembling.

Did you had a look here ?

There are at least 2 alternative methods to get the tablet in flashing mode if none works, that means that you need to open the Mini Pc.

This firmware can be flashed from SD. I have tried it and result was OK.
One important point - during the flashing process I used external power adapter from Nexus 4 (5V / 1,2A).

2 globula_neagra: Yes I've done it. But adb method doesn't work for me due to "adb device" returns empty list of attached devices.

Update works very good installed from SDcard. Now my unofficial sixaxis (ps3 pad) is connected with my device - you can use U4B like videogame console.

I'm sorry I use a translator. After a week of trouble-free operation device freezes, pulled out of the socket and after the boot hangs inscription Android MiNi PC download is going on. What should I do to re-sew or have a way to spice up?

Простите пользуюсь переводчиком.  После недели бесперебойной работы девайс завис, выдернул из розетки и после включения при загрузке висит надпись Android MiNi PC дальше загрузка не идет. Что делать, заново прошивать или есть способ оживить?
