Custom firmware features:

  • updated busybox v1.21.0.git (2012-11-29)
  • Unix like init.d boot scripts support, more details on init.d scripts here
  • changed permissions on external sdcard to allow write access

Download: kasty-cx919-422-20130715_rooted3.zip

Please flash with Rockchip Batch Tool 1.7, use Restore button.

Please report any problem with this firmware, I verified this firmware boots on the Tronsmart T428, but I don't have a CX919 to fully test the custom firmware.

dear admin (kasty?)

thanks for this cutrom rom, i confirm is work's on cx-919.

after flash with rockchip batchtool 1.7 and "restore" i get an error message in first home-screen-helper like this
"unfortuantelly, tv-modell hast stopped"
may be a problem with error in formating internal space. but when i can click on "ok" button on down right corner i get out of the home-screen-helper and every thing works fine...

So i have flashed the first time original firmware 0715 i get the obove message, but after that some complete system-freezes happens, but with your version every prozess run's very very stable...

after i make a low level format with "finless firmware tool 1.37" to the original firmware 0715 the above message and the system-freezes was gone, may be the fault for the above message, but when it work's stable i make no extra low level format :-)

questions:

1. my solid explorer detect as new devices "micro sd", so i can move apps or everything to this device, test works fine.

But how i can use it for app space (to move apps to external_sd???)

2. testing bluetooth (pairing with my windows phone 8 "samsung ativ s" is succesfull, but after very very short time i get disconnect, so i click connect, after 1-2 second's i get disconnect again, may be further testing necessary.

the following item i will miss in your custom rom:

1. virtual button in taskbar to shutdown device, like in finless rom (no app).

2. fix for gameloft games like (sharky dash) not work becouse is not compatible.

3. build.prop modd
to you have mod this file to a samsung device etc, i see no difference?

thanks and waiting for your explanation how i can activate my micro-sd for app-space, hope it is possible today with the fix to "allow wirte access to external_sd"... :-)

I tested thoroughly on the CX-919 and did not have the tv model problems the above poster had. Everything seems to be running smoothly so far. I tested a few videos on mxplayer and haven't had any issues. Xbmc runs smoothly (when pushing to mxplayer, haven't tried the test version of xbmc that HW encodes). Wifi speed and range seems good. Ran a speed test and got 18 M/b Down.

All and all this seems to be a good working rom for the CX-919.

Before i installed this ROM i could get into boot menu (recovery mode).

After installing this ROM i can't get into boot mode. I tried the soft reset button and CMW (boot to recovery mode)

My TV screen stays black (no signal) when im holding the soft reset button for a few seconds. When powering off and on again the android stick boots normally to the start screen of android.

Does anyone has an suggestion to get into the boot menu mode?

I would like to make an nandroid backup.

UPDATE: I discovered that a normal boot also doesn't work. I have to take the power off and on again.

Thank you for rooting this firmware, you saved me some time.

Just a question, it seems I'm not able to run scripts from init.d, I have followed the guide on XDA so I made sure /system was rw, script was runnable etc, the script works just fine when I run it from the console but it doesn't run at boot, could you give me some clue on how to do it?

thank you!

Hello,

Can you post the contents of your script, where you installed it (path and permissions on the file) ?

Regards.

sure, thank you for helping me out.

the file is in /system/etc/init.d

I verified that it is persistent on reboot and I succesfully find it in /etc/init.d/ upon a reboot

root@android:/system/etc/init.d # ls -al

-rwxrwxrwx root root 54 2013-08-01 17:48 99_autostart_debian

I renamed this 99_ so it should get started as the last script (for now I have only this script however)

the content is:

-----------

#!/system/bin/sh

deb x

echo test >> /sdcard/tmp/opinions-on-teclast-p90hdst2

------------

(withouth the dashes ---)

deb x is to start my debian system with xrdp,

the echo test is just a debug string

if i run it with ./99_autostart_debian it works

TaRocc, I haven't had time yet to look at your script problem.

Just finished a custom firmware for the CX919 (1080p) :
