Here is an Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean rooted firmware for the Minix G4-108A device based on latest Minix official release version 001 date 2013/09/11. This update is valid only for the G4 108A model.

Product code is shown on the side of the packaging above the product barcode.

Custom firmware features:

  • root with latest SuperSU version 1.65 (free version)
  • removed most Chinese and unnecessary applications
  • Google Play Store fixes so more application are visible/compatible
  • updated busybox v1.21.0.git (2012-11-29)
  • Unix like init.d boot scripts support, more details on init.d scripts here
  • changed permissions on external sdcard to allow write access
  • increased storage space for applications (/data partition) to 3 GB
  • NEW! kernel modules (cifs, tun, lan, serial, xpad) compiled by Oma & Crew RKTablets, thank guys!

Please flash with Rockchip Batch Tool 1.7, use Restore button.

 

Please report any problem with this firmware, I can't verify this custom firmware works as I don't have a Minix Neo G4 device to test the custom firmware.

i just downloaded and flashed this firmware on my G4.I think the tun.ko module included here is not compatible with the kernel.

first its not preloaded when the system boots up, i had to insmod the tun.ko module using terminal emulator

 

second the system would crash and restart whenever a vpn program is launched

Hi, thanks for the ROM. Could you re-release the rom as CWM compatible rom? My OTG port broke and can't flash newer firmwares.
