This is your partition layout. No user partition (internal sdcard). Consequently it cannot be mounted.

so where was this retrieved from?

this?:

We can dump the firmware on the tab. Download a terminal emulator from Play Store, reboot tab and type:

su
dmesg >/mnt/sdcard/dmesg.txt
logcat -d -v time >/mnt/sdcard/logcat.txt
cat /proc/partitions >/mnt/sdcard/partitions.txt

Yes, you will find the kernel command line in the dmesg log.

so what does that mean?  Are you saying the kernel doesn't support mounting of the internal storage?

No, I am just saying you can find the partition layout in the dmesg log. I shows clearly what the physical partition layout on your NAND was.

so possibly I didn't run the commands properly, or I did something wrong, I neglected to run something?  which would be the internal partition? or something?

Your running kernel didn't lie. Typically the partiton /user is called internal sdcard.

what?  my tablet doesn't have ANY internal storage?  Doesn't that seem odd to you?  like something isn't right?  Are there even tablets like that?

Right, internal sdcard isn't there. An unified internal storage is google standard nowadays.

No, this is an emulated partition on an ext4 partition. Internal sdcard was a vfat partition.

so why could I access both internal "emulated" storage and external sdcard before, but now I can only access the external?  I need a vfat partition?
