Hello,
I have a Pipo M9S (still) and I've been searching for a firmware update for a long time now. The newest fw that I've been able to find is still your 4.4.2 with the updated kernel. So I was wondering, is the P7 hardware possibly close enough that a newer ROM such as this one might be compatible with the M9S?
I thought to myself, "If anyone would have answer to that question, it is probably Oma!"
The reason which I thought the P7 might have a chance at being compatible is the overall impression that the hardware is very similar. Obviously they are both Pipo, both RK3288, both 2GB RAM, 16GB ROM, etc. The largest difference which is apparent looking at the specs is the screen size (the P7 having a 9.4" screen and the M9S having a 10.1" screen). What makes these two tablets the most alike (in specs) throughout Pipo's RK3288 line is that both tablets have an IPS screen with a resolution of 1280x800.
What I don't know is if they use the same PMU, similar type of RAM, if the drivers for the screen are fundamentally different, or if there are other hardware or kernel differences which would make this an impossible task. This is why I wanted to seek out your opinion first!
So what do you think? Is there a chance?
Thanks for all of your help! Cheers!

For GPS it could also be a kernel issue. For netflix pls try this: http://crewrktablets.arctablet.com/?wpfb_dl=2765

Is it known if the GPS issue is a problem with the ROM or the kernel yet?I recently ordered this tablet and would be happy to provide any additional data that you may need in order to determine the source of the issue. Just tell me what I need to do.
This is the issue of ROM, because with CM 12.1 and same kernel GPS works....

I don't even have this device so I'm just taking a wild guess with this, but has anyone tried something simple like enabling mock devices under developer menu?
Â
If it isn't that, then I would start looking at the config files.
Â
I had an issue with the KK ROM for my M9S where the flash would not work.
Â
I began comparing my config files with the AOSP config files and found some things were missing. I added those things and now the flash and some other settings are working properly.
I would compare all of the GPS related config files to working ones from CM 12.1(seems like you have tested there and GPS is working).
Â
Hopefully that's all it is, because config files are easier to correct than kernel modules or bad software.
Cheers!
