Download rkdumper: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56219924&postcount=1

Open the command interpreter with admin rights. Then type:

rkdumper swt

Check in RKAndroidTool if the device is in Loader Mode. Try to flash.

I'll try this as soon as I can get the tab to run again. Still looking for the screen to replace my broken one.  But thanks again for the info.

Is there a chance we might get a marshmallow rom for the insignia flex elite?

Thanks.

Thanks for the tip graphdarnel.

Managed to put a 6000mah battery into the tablet (3.5 x 66 x 125) added about 8 grams to the weight. Was a pain!!

Running it down now, so i can charge from empty and see how long it lasts.

So what's the verdict?  Does it get hot while either charging or using?

Temperature is good, gets a bit warm, but not much. I use a 2.5A charger and it doesn't heat up while charging (charge takes approx. 1 1/2 hrs).

Overall, usability is much longer. I don't play games, but for streaming video and browsing lasts much longer.

A 6.0 rom would be nice..., hint, hint.

Trying to get OMA rom on mine.  I bought it used and someone must have been messing with the rom because it runs like dogpoo.

forcesystemclose at startup and it takes about 5 min to boot.   i dont think its hardware issue because once i eventually get it into an app it works really fast.

just got it rooted with kingroot, but now it boots to a black screen, all i have is the home buttons and the nav bar on top.   frustrating

what a nice piece of hardware with really crappy software :/

For netflix pls try this: http://crewrktablets.arctablet.com/?wpfb_dl=2765

I used it for the insignia flex elite and netflix is now working.

copied the oma... /system/etc files to /sytem/etc on tablet

copied the oma.../system/lib/libdrmdecrypt.co to /system/lib/ on tablet

copied the oma... /system/vendor/lib to /system/vendor/lib on tablet

Oma, would it be possible to use the kernel from the iFive air MM 6.0.1 for this tablet?

Not that clear on how all this fits together.

Thanks.

You can use the Flex LP sekernel. Our AOSP 6.0.1 or our CM13 build should boot on it.

However, I have not seens the tab starting into flash-mode by now ....

Here's what I did to get the rom installed:

1.Go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/one-click-root-tool-android-2-x-5-0-t3107461 and download KingRoot and install it and open/run it then restart tablet.

2. go to playstore and get esfile explorer, terminal emulator and busybox and install/open them (you want to give them super user access when it asks)

3. Download Oma's rom to your windows machine and unzip it.

4. plug a micro sd card into your windows machine and copy resource.img, kernel.img, boot.img, recovery.img and system.img from Oma's unzipped rom onto the sdcard.

5. take the microsd card and plug it into your tablet, turn tablet on.

6. Using esfile explorer, copy the above files onto the sdcard in your tablet (not into a folder on the sdcard, just the sdcard itself)

7. Open terminal emulator, type in 'su' without quotes and hit enter.

8. you will see a # at end of the next line (means you have super user access)

9. type in 'dd of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p3 if=/mnt/sdcard/resource.img bs=4096' without quotes, hit enter (it will say it copied a file across for all of these as you do them, system.img will take some time)

10. type in 'dd of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p4 if=/mnt/sdcard/kernel.img bs=4096' without quotes, hit enter
11. type in 'dd of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p5 if=/mnt/sdcard/boot.img bs=4096'  without quotes, hit enter
12. type in 'dd of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p6 if=/mnt/sdcard/recovery.img bs=4096'  without quotes, hit enter
13. type in 'dd of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p10 if=/mnt/sdcard/system.img bs=4096' without quotes, hit enter

14. Tablet should be rooted, restart it.

15. KingRoot will let you turn off some things at start (Auto-start), I uninstalled Purify (in KingRoot).

16. I also installed droidwall to stop apps from accessing internet as KingRoot tries to contact some server sometimes.

Hope this covers it...

Many thanks to Oma!

I'm trying to follow your instructions to install OMA rom on the Insigna Flex Elite, and while it mostly works, when I get to the system.img step I always get "No space left on device" after running the command.

Might you have any guidance here?

Or, it just freezes up. How long should this step take?
