Hello oma,

I have a tablet branded "turbo x ice IV" from a retailer in Greece. The tab is physically identical to N90 II, but it is an rk3188 with 2gb ram and a retina display. The link of the product is here.

I tried changing the firmware, but I did not made a backup first, and now I am stuck.

When using your 4.4.4 or 4.2.2 v88 rk3188 (I have a chuwi v88, thank you for your efforts) firmware with the  pd800_freelander  kernel  (seems the tab is a Xoro PAD 9719QR clone or something), everything but the touch screen (and the orientation) works very nice. I have bt, wifi, sound, battery monitor and the tab is fast.

the pcb has t-chip tr976qv11 printed on it, which returns zero results from google.

Is there any hope that you could guide me to get the touchscreen working?

from a  dmesg on the tab, i can see that it says

input: ft5x0x_ts as /device/patform/rk30_i2c.0/i2c-0/0-0038/input/input

then tries to open the i2s bus, and then fails (no ack) saying

ft5x0x_ts 0-0038: ft5x0x_probe : fail to read TB lib version and vendor id

and later on it says

input: sis_touch as devices/virtual/input/input3 (input2 is a mouse I have plugged in)

[MSI TOUCH] SiS Touch Reset HI

and again it fails after trying to read the i2c (no ack) bus giving:

gt2005 read reg(0x0 val:0xc0) failed, try to read again

read chip id high byte failed

[MSI TOUCH] SiS Touch Reset Low

No tab is identical the other! Every tab has is specific kernel. When it is gone (by flashing a strange firmware/kernel into the tab) the game is over.

Pls contact the retailer for providing the genuine firmware.

thanks for replying.

I know that I should have at least got a backup of the kernel. ūüôā

Anyway, I will try a bit more, everything is working fast using the RK31_kernel_3036_hr_p800_freelander, except the touchscreen. I believe it is a ts chip, and I most probably erased it during the flash prossess. I believe I am at this point, I want to give it a go for the sake of fun.

Do you happen to have a¬†ft5x_ts.ko module compiled against a kernel like the p800? ūüôā

Then again, it may be the msi sis touch that is actually the connected device to the screen, it reports two devices for ts control. If you have come across a ko for I2C Touch panel driver for SiS 9200 family, I would try that as well.

Otherwise, I wil go get another one and extract the image from a working machine. Thanks for your time, and for the great work you have done with rk firms.

Oma, please ignore the modules request if you have seen my message,

I was mislead, I have made it work, I found a working tablet and extracted the kernel from it.

It appears that it uses the GSLX680 ts controller, with leads me to wonder, in this post of yours, you used a kernel that tried to load that same controller, do you happen to remember which kernel was it? (ok found it, its bob #11, thanks)

I am uploading the kernel in case anybody wants to play with his device.

This is for Plaisio computers ICE IV tablet.

kernel name lipf@tchipserver2 #325 Wed Mar 19 14:44:51 CTS 2014

Fine. I changed the topic title for better reference.
