I'm testing the charging rate of this tablet and it does not go beyond 1.10 amps using the original charger.
This is only when battery is completely empty. when it is at around 50 it goes down to 0.50-0.60 amps !!! it has a 3000MAH battery. So this tablet does not really have a fast charge like the other tablets I have (ainol aurora) which does suck 1.5 amps out of the ainol charger. The charger cable of this chuwi is rated 26 awg which around 1.3 amps (enclosed) (https://wiki.xtronics.com/index.php/Wire-Gauge_Ampacity), which is less than real power usb cables which are rated 24 awg. (2.1 amps enclosed) . The ainol charger is rated 22 awg which is rated 5 amps (enclosed).
I bought some 22 awg usb cables to test more and to have handy for my other charging devices.
really cheap on ebay:
you can hack the cable to us it with the chuwi or other power hangry devices by soldering the right connector:
for the chuwi: http://www.ebay.com/itm/141226219751
or buy the ready made cable:
This applies only if you want to use 2.1 charger with your tablet and quit using the original charger or if the original charger dies.

the tablet is now shut off and charging at 0.73 from an external 4x18650 power bank:
I use this to measure current (amp):

In this price class most likely no PMU chip. Anyway, kernel sources are not available. Sorry.

Screenshot looks good, but tablets icons look too wide. It may not be evident, but you can see the difference if you compare round icons together, they look wider. Maybe the problem is with the panel?
Another problem I had with rom was that there were red borders in Google Chrome when pressing hyperlinks. Any ideas?

Thanks!

The screenshot is in any case right. So what you see on the screen is the issue. This is hardware/kernel related. What kernel was on the tab before?
For the red frame issue install this via TWRP: http://crewrktablets.arctablet.com/?wpfb_dl=2609

Thanks! Patch did the trick. Just noticed, that webpages color palet looks something like 8-bit colors and rasterized, any ideas? Original browser renders pages just fine and smooth.Â
Forgot to mention that screen was distorded with original rom also. My kernel was and is #607, can I update it somehow?

Thanks again Oma!

This clearly indicates that this is a hardware issue.
