What kernel source should I use to update 3.0.8+ to 3.0.36 (i.onik TP10.1 1500DC-kb)
The kernel that came with the i.onik TP10.1 1500DC-kb is based on version 3.0.8+, so I wanted to compile a 3.0.36 kernel, so I could use RK31 builds with this tablet. What can I do to update the kernel source?

Hi guys,

I've tried to look a bit deeper into the dephts of building android ROMS and kernels from source.

So far I've accomplished the following:

  • Building ROM from Source as Provided by i.onik
  • update the source from android_4.1.1_r3 to 4.1.1_r6.1 by applying the differences between AOSP revisions as a patch to source
  • Building kernel source as provided
  • Building 3.0.36 kernel from Marsboard( which leads to a blackscreen on the i.onik)

While attempting to use the config from i.onik with the 3.0.36 kernels of some RK30 devices including the CrewRKTablets source,

I've noticed the absence of the LCD definition, which defaults to null. So the display would stay off, if I'm not mistaken.

So where do I start when updating kernel? Are there other Devices that are based on the mb0 config( based on the name of the defconfig) already using a 3.0.36 kernel?

edit:

Link to source code here since the homepage is down/maintenance mode.

Time is over for rk30boards. You will not find any working source.

Ah ok, that is somewhat sad.

Are there any good tutorials on updating or porting the android kernel source in general?

In that case I could try to apply that knowledge to update the source to 3.0.36, based on the one provided by marsboard.
