Hello all,

I'm looking for rom suitable for Vedia X55 tablet. AFAIK it is similar to Kiano Pro 10 Dual Core, U-Zone F8 Extreme Dual Core etc. Specs:

9,7", 8GB ROM, 1 GB RAM, 2x ARM Cortex-A9 1.6, Mali-400 MP

Board: rk30sdk
Build ID: rk30sdk-eng 4.1.1 JRO03H 20130318.192412-r2019 release-keys
Kernel: 3.0.8+ (20130318.192412-r2019)

Is there any chance to flash Oma's rom to it? If yes, how to do backup before?

Many thanks in advance!

Hi Oma,

thanks for the reply. Here's the file:

https://mega.nz/#!Ud8mTQRA!GM-jWy-A9C0cXv_jxlrjuj-B0Vgxv_jW8JnuFcVTgAg

I'd be glad if you help me with proper rom as well as backup restore procedure. Please notice that I couldn't use adb push command (although other options - shell, devices etc. seemed ok) - luckily device was pre-rooted.

Dump looks ok.

Read wifi chip type OK ! wifi_chip_type = RTL8188CU

Build: http://crewrktablets.arctablet.com/?p=1913

Kernel: http://crewrktablets.arctablet.com/?wpfb_dl=2829

Just change kernel in folder rockdev/Image before flash.

Thanks Oma, I tried to flash the device, but I'm affraid I've bricked it. I followed the guide and stopped on "Run" button after ereasing IDB. I get message "Error: Download IDB failed" an there's nothing I can do more. Any suggestions?

Maybe a driver issue. Which Windows?

Win 7 x64. Already tried on 3 machines (but all with the same OS) with 3 drivers (yours, 3.50 and 3.70) - still no go. BTW - tablet is now in MASKROM mode; Download Boot Fail. Which OS would you suggest to try?

Win7 is the best one. Mask-Rom ... did you open the tab?

Nope, just tried to follow your other guidance with RKDevelopTool. Was that wrong direction? Could it be somehow related to previously mentioned non-working push command?

In the so called Mask-Rom mode the first stage loader included in the SoC is running. Normally the loader stored on the NAND is running.

When it is not a driver issue then I fear your NAND is corrupted. The only way to verify this is to run the first stage loader. Therefor you need to short two NAND pins. In principle like here.

Ok - one step further - RKAndroidTool worked after switching computer + usb cable + short-ciruit NAND. Now the problem is that device boot into CWM every time I reboot. Already installed Oma RK30 CM10.1 Format NAND, but still the same issue. Ideas? 🙂

Use the stock recovery first: http://crewrktablets.arctablet.com/?wpfb_dl=1036

Rename the recovery in folder rockdev/Image to CWM before.

Tablet up and running! Thanks oma, you're the man! One more question - what fixes would you suggest to install? Is that NAND fix necessary?

No, it just wipes the user partitions. You can flash the CWM now. Rename it to recovery and tick parameter, misc and recovery.
