This is the last question about can be upgrade to 4.3 or KK or can't be upgrade.

Cm10.1 and JB 4.2 are too heavy to use.

Since this forum is opened over 1 year but doesn't have any news about optimized roms, new roms or something could improve rk29boards speed. Im using my tablet over 2 years but cannot faster than a iphone 3gs could playing alphalt 8 easily without lag?

Kitkat crashs at the start prozess on rk29board with 3.0.8 kernel.

Sorry, we don't have any solution for Kitkat on rk29board.

So what about JB 4.3, no one tested it. I see that rk3066 sticks are landed on kitkat.

And I don't know this is a fake or a real rom of CM11 rom for pipo S1 rk3066

Well, these are 2nd gen loader selinux builds, running on a 3.0.36+ selinux kernel. Far away from what a rk29board can perform.

We frequently test CM11 on a 3.0.8+ kernel, but unfortunately code is still not stable.

I see that kernel 3.0.8 is unstable with kitkat
Or using kitkat with a 3.0.36 kernel.

I search on google and I see some rk292x devices using 3.0.36 kernel.

Is there have any test (unstable ) roms can be downloaded for testing?  I suggest that need to make a zip flash for easier coding and open source too.

Im always online everyday for news but over 5 months, there are no reply or a topic in this forum.

update: there is a v2.31 boot loader for rk29, I don't know this is a 1st or 2nd boot loader?

Yes, there a 3.0.36+ kernel for rk2928boards. Other GPU.

Gen2 loader (in the nomenclature of rk30boards) are not available for rk29boards.

We don't like selinux builds as they gives another hurdle to do a custom build.

In general RK never released GPL-Sources nor any bit of code.

So, everybody dealing with re-engineering code for rkxxborads must really be a raving lunatic ;-)

Development of our CM10.1 builds took nearly one year.

CM10.1 builds are stable and in case of the rk2918 the build demonstrates state of the art for single CPU and 500 MB Ram.

Our zRam kernel will boost-up the performance dramatically. There are many kernel available.

As Lars said before CM11 is nothing to test, because build will not boot-up.

I know this is not what you 've expected but all what I can say at this moment of time is we are still on it.

I found that there is some firmware may not helpful but these are oem-ed firmware from pipo.

and this topic very crazy, and I think your tablet used 3.0.36 kernel too.

I have never found Archos Gamepad 3.0.36 sources that worked, and it is not a RK2918, its RK3066.

The problem with RK2918 is the GPU. Kernelmodules have to match the kernel version, and for Vivante GC800 there are no 3.0.36 modules available, especially not in source.

At this point, I think that Rockchip will never release kernel modules for RK2918 and kernel 3.0.36.

No source, no modules and no 3.0.36 kernel.

Sorry
