Installed the update.  Can confirm firmware is rooted.  It also supports DroidMote now (great job).

I haven't tried the supplied remote software.  However, I amvery pleased with the fast response to my development request.  Awesome job!

Just to clarify, this update comes from the manufacturer, not us Wink

We'll eventually build a custom firmware later offering more space for apps and few other enhancements.

Cheers.

I've just posted a custom firmware that offers increased storage space for apps (2 Gb instead of 500 Mb).

See here:

I am a newbee and tried to install the firmware but the installer is calling it a invalid package. What am I doing wrong? I currently have the 11/29 non custom firmware installed. My original problem is that that the 500mb of storage is not enough for my apps.

thank you

Our custom firmware (update.img) needs to be flashed using Rockchip flashing tool.

We should provide a detailed guide for the procedure in a couple of days.

Hello. Recently bought this Android Mini PC.

http://dx.com/p/dual-core-android-4-1-google-tv-player-w-tf-wi-fi-1gb-ram-4gb-rom-black-163836

Can I use roms from other manufacturers like the ones posted in this part of the forum? I mean if they are all RK 3066 based they are essentially the same thing, no?

Also is there a generic rooting method for RK3066 based mini PCs?

Thanks.

Yes and no, there are differences in the Wi-Fi drivers and other drivers, so i don`t recommend flashing a firmware from another device unless you know how to unbrick`it and you are aware of the risks.

The following users say thank you to globula_neagra for this useful post:

Well I can accept the responsibility and go ahead but not blindly.

Do you have any tips of how should I proceed. I have some fair experience coming from my U30GT tablets. Is the upgrade procedure similar? Do I use the Rockchip tool for this job?

Also how do I put my Android mini PC to service mode? There is no power nor volume buttons.

If I connect the mini PC to my desktop PC and start up the rockchip tool, can I download the stock firmware so I can flash it back? Will this be sufficient to unbrick it?
