Just to clarify, this update comes from the manufacturer, not us Â
We'll eventually build a custom firmware later offering more space for apps and few other enhancements.
Cheers.

I've just posted a custom firmware that offers increased storage space for apps (2 Gb instead of 500 Mb).

Our custom firmware (update.img) needs to be flashed using Rockchip flashing tool.
We should provide a detailed guide for the procedure in a couple of days.

Hello. Recently bought this Android Mini PC.
http://dx.com/p/dual-core-android-4-1-google-tv-player-w-tf-wi-fi-1gb-ram-4gb-rom-black-163836
Can I use roms from other manufacturers like the ones posted in this part of the forum? I mean if they are all RK 3066 based they are essentially the same thing, no?
Also is there a generic rooting method for RK3066 based mini PCs?
Thanks.

Yes and no, there are differences in the Wi-Fi drivers and other drivers, so i don`t recommend flashing a firmware from another device unless you know how to unbrick`it and you are aware of the risks.

Well I can accept the responsibility and go ahead but not blindly.
Do you have any tips of how should I proceed. I have some fair experience coming from my U30GT tablets. Is the upgrade procedure similar? Do I use the Rockchip tool for this job?
Also how do I put my Android mini PC to service mode? There is no power nor volume buttons.
If I connect the mini PC to my desktop PC and start up the rockchip tool, can I download the stock firmware so I can flash it back? Will this be sufficient to unbrick it?
In case anyone is interested, I have just posted a new Android 4.2.2 custom firmware update:
