Here a second Android 4.4.2 KitKat (KRT16O) rooted firmware update for the PiPO U8 tablet (aka Pipo Ultra-U8). It is based on latest PiPO update dated 2013/12/12.

Notes:Â
-Â any update received thru OTA may interfere with our custom firmware, we recommend not to apply any OTA update
Custom firmware features:
- root with latest SuperSU version 1.80 (free version)
- removed most Chinese and unnecessary applications
- Google Play Store fixes so more application are visible/compatible
- updated busybox v1.21.0.git (2012-11-29)
- Unix like init.d boot scripts support, more details on init.d scripts here
- changed permissions on external sdcard to allow write access
- increased space for applications (/data partition) to 4 GB
- disabled OTA updates (may cause problems, see Notes above)
- kernel modules (cifs, tun, lan, serial, xpad) compiled by Oma & Crew RKTablets thank guys!
- NEW!  optional ClockworkMod (CWM) Recovery easy install package
Download:Â kasty-pipo-u8-442-20131212-rooted4.zip
Flash with Rockchip Batch Tool version 1.7, use Restore button.
Please report any problem with this firmware, I can't verify this custom firmware works as I don't have a PIPO U8 tablet to test the custom firmware. Â

is normal in every update, delete all, let the tablet clean
starts ... says cant mount ... / ......
and then format ...

Hi, can you please tell me how your tablet is seen in the Google Play Market with this rom? Nexus 7 ?
Can you install Gameloft games as Asphalt adrenaline?

It is not spoofed as nexus 7. It is as it is, a U8.
Gameloft games should be no problem as the next screenie can tell you. I even got GTA SA running although it doesn't show up at Google Play.

In fact, I was trying unsuccessfully to install Asphalt 8: Airborne (Gameloft) and also Sonic Dash (SEGA) for my son (he has those games on his samsung galaxy 3 )

Need help. I have made the first upgrade with 20131004. I try toupgrade to 20131212 but the problem is that the tablet is not recognized by the Rocktchip Batch tool. Any ideas.....?

OK. Windows 7. I had no problem when I first made the upgrade to 20131004. All worked fine.
I tried the same way to upgrade to 20131212 but when I connect the tablet nothing happens. There is Usb connection (I can tranfer files) but it cannot connect to Rocktchip Batch tool.

try pressing the button and connect the usb cable
find a newest version of Rocktools or
roctools or arranged ... eye just to see if anything connects toke no more
install and uninstall or adb install and adb driver samsung
