Downloaded (fast) and restored onto my Wifi only M9 Pro. Had a few problems initially (crashes & freezes) but I think my external SD card was playing up. Now seems good. But:

GPS is not working. I loaded this ROM and then did load the gps.conf files as for the previous version. Z-Device Test had GPS crossed out (ie no module) and GPS Test showed it as off. In Settings I tried both 'use device (GPS)' and 'High' settings in Location. In previous version I only tried GPS Test but this did show GPS On (& eventually picked up some sats). I could not see any GPS.Config file or other GPS type of file in the root apart from the gps.conf file I had loaded.

The Miracast feature is not working - it does get further than previously - my wifi direct TV sees the Android Tablet, when I start connection the Tablet asks if I agree to the request. The TV then tries to connect but eventually gives up. I will have another try with my bluray player which I think may have Wifi direct as well.

I note the start screen is same as before (saying 4.22) then it goes to the boring 'android' word whilst loading and ends up with the google only launcher. Some of the settings reflect phone and not Tablet and certain files in root mention Nokia and Samsung; I wonder if Pipo have knocked something together in a rush?? Is this simply a 'work in progress' release?

Im gonna stay far away from it,thanks for sharing this.

I was wondering could this rom easily be ported to the M9 Max? The main difference is the screen DPI and the GPS according to PIPO. So could the kernel from the 4.2.2 work with it, or the kernel changed to work on the M9 Max?

Guys I am going to wait it out awhile longer before upgrading to KitKat maybe the next release before upgrading. Too busy setting up my Exynos Octa Core website and looking into its firmware (I am not like Admin an expert in ROM modifications, I am just an observant user)I am on VOYO A18 Octa device now with lots of bugs, freezes and am too tired to chase this upgrading thing and to restore data again, over and over.

I just settled down to enjoy the PiPo and then another upgrade/update. My grandaughter broke my CM10.2 device screen and had to chase around for the parts and the repair work. (ohh for crying out loud)

Sorry for my RANTINGS in the forums. you guys need to manually install the GPS Help files because I have yet to study the 4.4 frimware and the ADB script.

Admin, is the 4.4 firmware support the "init.d"?

Totally agree with the above!

Tried it and despite GPS not working, I couldn't get on 3G either. Although the SIM card is detected and got 3 network bars, I couldn't get 3G. Maybe it's my 3G coverage at home. So don't read too much into it.

Regarding the boot up splash screen I can confirm it shows 4.2.2 and then it boots into the boring Android word boot screen. I'm going to downgrade back to the previous ROM and wait for the KitKat release when Pipo put a bit more work into it.

So what version are you going back to - I have new tablet and have little experience of previous versions?

According to PiPo this is only a trial/beta firmware and not the finished release.

I would not call it crap, it works great on my 3g version, (no gps but i never used it), 3g and wifi work great.

I installed the version from pipo site and rooted without any problems.
18000 antutu and a lot smoother navigation.

It`s not crap its just not the finished rom, It clearly says on PiPo`s site that this is a trial firmware, therefore if you install it and there are problems thats tuff... if you want it fully working then wait for the finished rom and dont install beta/trial roms ..Simple.

Totally agree with you. I don't like to spent my time installing and reinstalling roms to test it. I'm waiting for a final rom version.

Well, to be fair, when I tested it the navigation was really smooth and snappy. The graphical problem I currently have when using the tablet in portrait position of showing purple lines across the screen, didn't happen. Also, I loved the new keyboard and feel of the new ROM. Can't wait for them to release the final product!

I would say, watch this space...
