Ehm, my M9Pro has software volume buttons, how do I enter flash mode?

I tried from adb (adb reboot recovery) but the tablet shuts down instead of rebooting to recovery, how is that?

Just trying to help... with the RK3188 TV Stick, it is possible to force the flash mode by holding the RESET button while connecting the USB cable... then after 2 or 3 secondes, release the RESET.  (all that with tablet powered off).

I don't know if that is going to help, but it worth trying it...

Power down your tablet. Then, press and hold both hardware buttons (power and escape) and after about 5 seconds, release the escape button and hold down the power button addtional 5 seconds. If it does not work, try it vice versa. The screen will remain black and when you connect your tablet to usb, rockchip batch tool will show you the green light at connected devices and you can flash through the restore function. If the light ist not green, eg pink, try hitting the "Switch" button. This also recently helped me.

The problem was with cable.

But thanks anyway.

Also

you will have to use "power + volume up/down" buttons pressed at the same tim

PipoM9 have no hardware volume up/down buttons.

What to use?

Well, to be fair, when I tested it the navigation was really smooth and snappy. The graphical problem I currently have when using the tablet in portrait position of showing purple lines across the screen, didn't happen. Also, I loved the new keyboard and feel of the new ROM. Can't wait for them to release the final product! I would say, watch this space...

Dear HMSR,

I had a kind of this using TV over HDMI, Purple lines acrrooss the screen. I could see thats occur due to resolution screen. I adjusted to HD and everythink is ok.

I can't install the rom.

It throws me the message:

<Layer 2-3> This operation didn't do, because of not supporting!

Restore Done Success<0> Fail<1> Time<0>ms

The button saying upgrade tells me the same.

I tried to reset, hitting with a needle the reset hole + power button, but I got the same message. In Rockchip Batch tool, the connected devices  box paints in pink the number one, with "2-3" under it.

Anybody with a possible solution?

Thanks.

Hi,

I had a problem with my USB port. Try other port, other PC and even change the cable.

Hi everyone!

I wonder if that ROM support nfs (network file system)? In the first post of that thread the cifs is mentioned but no info about nfs.

The second question I have is if anyone has tried to connect m9pro with that ROM installed to external monitor/TV via HDMI cable? Did it work well or there were some issues (e.g. scaled to 1080p low resolution, colored lines across the monitor screen, etc)?

I had this issue, but changing resolution screen to HD everythink is ok.

This is a PC issue try to clean up All your drivers pertaining to Rockchip drivers  (it will say something like Fuzhou rockchip ....). Then do a clean install of the drivers again and make sure after a reflash you reenable USB debugging and in Security enable unknown sources (means sideloading for us).

I had this problems too after installing other drivers on PC sometimes they bumped each other out.

Hi,

I have just flashed this rom and it works very smooth and stable but I got question is there any way to hide navigation bar on the bottom of the screen (with volume, back , home buttons). In previous original rom from pipo there was an option to hide/show this bar. It's great feature, and I realy would like to see it in this great rom.

Thanks in advance

NO I JUST MADE A MISTAKE IT DOESNT HAVE THE DOUBLE ARROW SYSMBOL TO HIDE THE TASK BAR , BUT YOU CAN CHANGE THE THAT TO HIDE THE BOTTOM APPS ICON.  NormalScreen.pngImage EnlargerGotoSettings.pngImage EnlargerAppsDockonlyhidden.pngImage Enlarger

Yes this firmware was snappier than the latest 4.2.2 JB update in March 14 and I found out that the battery life will stay longer than the latest JB 4.2.2firmware  I was on the 4.2.2 firmware for about 2 weeks and I noticed thta the battery life is the worst amongst the 4.2.2 version I was using it for about 1.5 hours only the battery has gone down to about 70% allready so I decided to take the plunge into KitKat which I have held off for about 3.5 months never regret it . I hope with the next update the battery life will remain the same GOOD I cant quantify coz I dont have the time to measure the actual battery drain. But standby/sleep mode it can last upto 1 week if left alone like that or slightly more maybe 10 days deep sleep.

I had to reflash recently the KitKat becoz I put in some app as system apps and it didnt work out well in the KitKat ROM whreas it worked OK on 4.2.2 ROM.Everytime I tried to go to settings the settings FC so cant do much without settings even 3rd party apps calls up the settings page and it FC. But  all the suspect app performed well as 3rd party app and not as system app. The most important is not to update GooglePlus into system app as  4 of my previous device went into boot loop when I updated GooglePlus into system app and dont want to give it a go again I rather have GooglePlus as a 3rd party app than risk another reflash.

so there is no option to hide this ? sometimes some application cannot hide it with full-screen mode and part of the screen is not visible, with original pipo rom there was an option to hide/show it with swipe form bottom.

I dont see a problem in viewing Fullscreen videos (using MXPlayer) and fullscreen YouTube BUT I cant comment on Games because I am totally clueless regarding Games ( I cant name even one game) coz I never install games on PC or Android since I started using PC in 1982.

So sorry about that!

This issue is not regarding only to games, most of the application cannot hide this bar, for example: gmaps, standard browser and for sure quite a lot of games (I've checked only one which i got on my phone but it is pointless to play it on tablet this size - ingress). So for now you got smaller effective surface of screen due to this bottom bar.

I checked several option (xposed, some app) and all this solution is not so good as it was in original rom (I did not check which rom was it, I quite fast flash new one). Is this so hard to implement in 4.4 ? Does original rom, which this custom is based on,  miss this feature as well ? 4.4 is really much more smooth and I would like to avoid downgrade rom just to have this feature.
