I installed this ROM and I do not understand. Pipo Max M9 Pro has four core processor and 2 GB of RAM, and my tablet still hangs. It is very slow. I have installed Avast, Beatiful Widget, Battery Saver and several software applications. I can not use it. Besides, when you call skype - off my program. I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 and the same programs - there are no such problems.   What to do? Help. :(

Download the antutu overclock app, set limits between 1400 and  1680 MHz . extreme improvement for me. Battery life improves.

First be careful with overclocking your tablet, you might mess things up beyond the point of being able to fix it. Heat is a real threat to a tablet because of how small it is. Overclocking a tablet can be quite dangerous.

Second, Yea I know its slow right now but thats just the way it is going to be for a while. Sure its hardware specs are on par with pretty much anything out there right now which is great considering the low price of the pipo tablets. But the reason behind that is the software, and I dont mean the android operating system. Without well written firmware and drivers, hardware will never have its full potential drawn out. The problem with Chinese tablets is that their software is sub par at best. The reason why the more pricier tablets out perform these ones with lesser specs is because those companies put a lot more effort into optimizing their software to bring out the full potential of the hardware.

So basically just have a little patience because I sympathize with the people writing these third party roms to try and make up for what these Chinese companies either lack in resources or the skills to do. It will get better don't worry. I myself have two pipo tablets. an M7 Pro and this M9 Pro I just got. I have rileyrom firmware installed on both and by far my m7 tablet outperforms my m9. Even though they both have the same exact hardware my M7 runs way smoother and plays my nintendo DS emulators without a hitch. Ran the same emulator and game on my M9 and I couldnt even bear it because the difference was so substantial.

This is just the way it is when you buy tablets like these. You may pay less than half the price of the big brand tablets but your going to take a hit in quality at some level or another. These tablets just happen to have software optimization problems that have to be upgraded and worked on by a third party source.

Whatever you do, for goodness sake, remove Avast ASAP, and never use it again. Nowhere!

My tablet performs like a military jet without any overclocking

As you can see on the first image it's my tablet Pipo  M9Pro. It's also identified as M9Pro by Antutu  🙂

I only get a 17,698 on antutu with my m9 pro and rileyrom 2.0. Any tips on boosting my performance? It is quite annoying because I have an m7 pro thats over 20,000 and would really love my M9 to be as well.

I don't know what to say frankly. I'm using the latest factory Rom. Neither Kasty nor Riley fit my needs although Kasty Rom seems to boost performance slightly.
The only thing I actually did, I rooted the factory Rom soon after flashing

I see, well I may just try out the factory rom myself then. Haven't rooted an android device in a while, any particular tool you used? Shame though, these tablets have the guts to really outperform a lot of higher priced phones/tablets out there its just the software is so abysmally optimized they stutter and have lots of kinks and glitches. Thats the one letdown I have from purchasing these tablets.

use DansRoot2.bat in the directory and I click - 3 reboots - you must be rooted now :)

Thanks to users contributions in this forum, I'm getting a PiPO M9 Pro 3G in a few days, I'll see if I can help with that SMS issue.

Cheers.

Any chance of an updated rom incorporating SMS and a tweaked kernel.

Hopefully, now that you have the new PiPO M9 Pro 3G this will be possible.

Kind regards

I received my PiPO M9 Pro 3G model a couple of days ago.  Just to let you know, I am working on the following for next custom firmware update:

- add a GPS package to get a faster Time To Fix (TTF)

- overclocked kernels, trying to find a good balance between performance gain/stability/battery life

- adding SMS feature from older firmware in latest custom firmware

I'll post about the progress when I get satisfactory results.

Cheers.

Please also take a look on why the tablet doesn't go into deep sleep mode if the modem is online.

You can see it after using any wakelock detector. The tablet goes into deep sleep normaly if the modem is offline.

After you turn the modem on it will never go into deep sleep.

Also on the SMS kernel the tablet NEVER goes into deep sleep even if the modem is off.

Hi I've a problem with my micro sd card 32 Gb Samsung class 10 on this rom.  I can only read but I can't write data. But If I put it on a USB card reader and plug it on pipo host port it work perfectly. On other devices it work.

Anyone can help me?

Our custom firmware normally has a fix to allow write access on external sdcard.

Which application are you using to write data on the card ?

Cheeers.
