Please note that I haven't yet tested this custom firmware on my PiPO M9 pro tablet, feedback is welcome.

Does anyone know how this rom is different from the 2013/10/10 firmware. I was hoping they would have finished the 4.4.2 rom since the beta was last rom released. If GPS not working is only difference the i'll stick with the 2013/10/10 release. Thanks to anyone with the answer.
That is the more reason you should upgrade to the latest March 14 ROm so far we dont have reports on GPS not working in these firmwares except of poor GPs signal performance , it might have something to do with your flashing *.img when you upgrade the firmware. A slight corruption in the *.img file might have cause your present problems. remember these are 300+ to 400+Mb continuous files and any slight problems on the PC HDD sector will cause havoc on your device.
I learnt it the hard way after trying to flash my LENOVO Phablet , I had to downlaod the same ROM 4 times and kept them on 3 seperate drives before I found one copy that worked flawlessly (no bootloop and problems with icons not showing up). it dowmload it at different times of the day and on different days but from the same source. (thats to show the effect of corruption even If the flash says it is successful)
The 10/10/13 firmware still has issues with wif if I recalled correctly (only starting to work right, if not it doesnt switch on or log in correctly and no blue icon only white icon, meaning it doesnt connect to Googles server). It is time for you to take the plunge, with every firmware version updates there comes improvements.I am about to flash my M9Pro with the latest Mar14 version. i am in the middle of backing up my data now. I have put off the 4.4.2 update (I knew it was a dud) so this 4.2.2 is a good start to the new year.
The 4.4.2 was not done by factory by the way it was done by a Russian programmer.

Installed the 422 ROM on my M9-Pro Wifi tablet.
Battery life seems (around 10%?) shorter.
GPS works ok.
Tablet still occasionally freezes during Play Store updates but now the hard reset (pin hole) works for first time since I bought it, so can restart without having to wait for battery to discharge.
The home screen and apps menu will now only display in landscape. Slight irritation, but all other screens work in portrait too...[any ideas why?]
Now and then get msg "Unfortunately GMail has stopped"...no worries!
Thanks to Admin for the new version!

Hello soenghei,
after the firmware install did you tried to hard reset your pipo?
are you still facing these issues?
Anyone else is still facing this issues?
Thank you very much for feedback!

Hi,
The screen orientation problem appeared straight after the rockchip flash auto-reboot. Ive tried manual power off, manual reboot and hard reset since, but it persists.... have noted cracktech's post to this forum about risks of possible corrupt *.img file, so may try another download.
So far only one freeze on Play Store downloads with this ROM (had same problem with previous version of rooted 4.2.2 rom and before that frequent random freezes with the official pipo roms and the pre-loaded out-of-the-box version).
Gmail has stopped problem seems to have been resolved by Play Store update.
cheers,
I have just updated my pad with the latest ROM nothing negative to to report.
Positives :
The fastboot improves the boot up time slightly but not as good as other QuadCore device with fastboot (I have a LENOVO MT6582 QuadCore 6inch Phablet already flash it 7times with different mods all of them boot it up in less than 20 seconds.
My GPS is working but No lock on satellite because of unknown reason but AGPS is working to get a fix. This problem has been going on for the past 5 months . I have full house 11 satellites lock on my Phablet. So it is not the gps.cong files issue maybe a hardware or kernel issue. But my SYGIC Maps software is working fine s without telling me "waiting for valid satellite signals" Only on the GPS Test app that I dont see a satellite lock.(maybe it is the GPS Test app problem??)
I have upgraded the Gmail/Maps (ver 7.7), Talk, Talkback, Calender Sync, Google calendar, and Playstore (4.5.10) and Velvet (GoogleSearch) directly into /system/app folder with no FC and install the 10TB Chinese Weibo Cloud storage and Installed the LENOVO Safe (integrated Firewall/AntiVirus/Malware and AppInstaller) without any hitch.
I have maintain my device Google ID on Google servers for all 4 upgrades without any problems. After every upgrdae I rewrite the Google ID using ID changing app to maintain only one (1) ID becaoz I dont want to see 10 different PiPo M9Pro devices registered on the Playstore servers after every reflash.
The page transition is smoother now and wifi is near instantaneous unlike before have to wait upto 30 seconds to get the blue wifi symbol.
I dont have to wory about registering the device on PiPo site anymore (thanks admin) coz that is the first thing that I removed after flashing the previous build ,the PipO Launchers and CertInstaller(piPo). Why have to register on PiPo site to enable the Launcher?? (if not it will not run).We paid for it and we want unhindered access to OUR property.
The fast boot enabler box (tick to enable) now sticks not go off after we leave the setting page.
Battery power seems better,(I have yet to measure the time) and the battery charging symbol now works while AC is attached (the first pad that I own since 2009 that shows the battery is charging symbol on its screen correctly)
NEGATIVES:
The fastboot is still not fast enough during boot up it still only halves the startup time whereas my phablet startsup (in fastboot mode) in under 20seconds and already the network and wifi are conected and ready to place and recieve call.
I have attached the build.prop additional lines to be added to you "build.prop"file to improve the video streaming and google market access. (Copy out your original build.prop to your PC and edit these additional lines in. Safe the original build.prop files. please check whether your text editor has safe it as "build.prop" or has changed the name to "build.txt" (some text editor do that). If this happens use 7zip to zipp the file then edit the file extension "build.txt" within 7zip (dont unzip edit within 7zip by using "rename") to "build .prop" change the extension from *.txt to "*.prop". Close/save the 7zip file. then unzipp it and you should now have the file as "build.prop" check the extension again, then copy the file back into the device and replace the original "build.prop".
or you can take the tedious way of keying in line by line by using BUILDPROP EDITOR install through Playstore

for your Gmail occassionally FC I recommend you to use RootBrowser to update the app directly into /system/app folder. this is how you do it create a temp folder inside the system/app folder so that you have /system/app/opinions-on-teclast-p90hdmp copy over the updated Gmail (com.google.android.gm_4.7.1.apk) from your data/app folder (copy over dont move) put it in your /system/app/opinions-on-teclast-p90hdmp folder and rename it to Gmail.apk and set the ownership to "root-root" all data/app the ownership are "system-system" once you have done that move the new Gmail.apk into /system/app. Reboot.

Hello, I need some help; I had installed the 4.4.2 ROM on my PIPO M9 PRO 3G but recently I decided to downgrade to an official version because the 4.4.2 Rom doesn't support GPS; during the UPGRADE using the Batch Tool 1.6, an sudden error ocurred and the installation was cancelled, now I cannot boot my tablet, for a few seconds (5-10), the tool finds the device but it disconnects automatically. Any ideia on how to fix it ?
