After FW flash and restart I'v got Unknown Device on my PC (WinXP). Now I can't  load to bootloader at all, PC does not recognizes Pipo. Tablet, as itself work's nice and boot to CWM, but I can't connect it to my PC via USB: I am getting Unknown Device. Tried many drivers and combination w/o any success. I think problem with bootloader. Can I fix it using CWM only ?

Thank you

Here is latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat rooted firmware for the PiPO M9 PRO (aka Max-M9pro) tablet based on an update from PiPO dated 2014/03/19.
Please note this firmware as some recent firmwares from PiPO probably have a fake 3.4.0 Linux version displayed while the Kernel is actually an old 3.0.36.

(20140319_DS1007_M9pro_4.4.2_#404.rar / 20140319_DS1007_M9pro_4.4.2.img)

Build information:

Linux Kernel: Linux version 3.0.36+ (root@alex-System-Product-Name) (gcc version 4.6.x-google 20120106 (prerelease) (GCC) ) #404 SMP PREEMPT Wed Mar 19 15:31:44 CST 2014

Android 4.4.2: rockchip/rk3188/rk3188:4.4.2/KOT49H/eng.root.20140319.153242:eng/opinions-on-teclast-p90hdst-keys

Custom firmware features:
  • root with latest SuperSU version 1.94 (free version)
  • removed most Chinese and unnecessary applications
  • Google Play Store fixes so more application are visible/compatible
  • updated busybox v1.21.0.git (2012-11-29)
  • Unix like init.d boot scripts support, more details on init.d scripts here
  • changed permissions on external sdcard to allow write access
  • increased space for applications (/data partition) to 7 GB
  • disabled OTA updates (may cause problems, see Notes below)
  • added Google Experience Launcher (GEL) in addition to PiPO's stock launcher
  • temporary fix for multi-user support, thanks to didierm
  • kernel modules (cifs, tun, lan, serial, xpad) compiled by Oma & Crew RKTablets, thank guys!

pipo_m9_pro_android442_kitkat_20140319_storage_apps.pngImage Enlarger

Notes:

- you should get an error saying "E:failed to mount /metadata (Invalid argument)" on first boot, you should have no problem ignoring the message.

- any update received thru OTA may interfere with our custom firmware, we recommend to refuse any update pushed OTA.

- while previous firmwares for the PiPO M9 pro were mosly beta software, it seems this release is one of the first stable KitKat update for the tablet.

Flash with Rockchip Batch Tool version 1.7, use Restore button.

This firmware was successfully flashed on a PiPO M9 Pro, thanks sclstore.fr for their support.

Previous Kasty ROM is working reasonably well for me except for a occasional reboot.
After installing Kasty last time, I also had to install GAPPS update to fix freezing and lags. Does this new ROM include this changes already built-in? Also is the cursor back? And if you know - could this also fix reboots that happen to me once every few days?

PS: ehhh sorry - there is actually no new Kasty ROM yet, I already have the one from 19/3... so I wait for the new one.

PPS: maybe my question / concerns could apply to the next version that is being prepared, so: admin: do you think reboots and lack of cursor could be fixed in the next update? Also GAPPS update to be included...

Thank you!
david

No space should have been lost, there are 7 GB dedicated to applications (/data partition) some space is used by Android system and cache, the rest goes for the media/documents storage space.

Cheers.

Hi All,

Yesterday I flashed my Pipo m9 pro using the batch tool and the kasty rom 442-20140504-rooted7.

Since I did this the pipo continously resets himselfs... I tried to do "esc+reset" but this doesn't work...

Any suggestions?

Thx!
