Hello to all
I ask right now as just another excuse to harass and my english (google translator), but I'm getting really desperate.
Have to walk my vote for several days without success wake of the brick happened after I installed the "Pipo M9 Max RileyROM 2.6 KitKat" the day it was published.
Have beheld all possible solutions presented in this forum and others on the internet.
I opened my PIPO, done short in Nand Chip, I've used various applications, various usb ports, multiple computers and nothing.
The point of the situation I am in is perhaps not far from success:
now I face the following problem - "Prepare BDI Fail" also has happened appears the message "Download BDI Fail".
Is it possible to ask for a little patience to rrileypm or someone who can help me.
Thank you all

You are in the WRONG Forum my friend if you have problems when using RILEY's ROM please post your problems at FreakTab not here. We will not be able to help you with RILEYs firmware.
(Admin, I purposely left this post with the corrupted reply to show to you that after your correction the problems still persist, under normal circumstances I would after first posting >>> edit/delete the gibberish/rubbish before I can get a clean message out)

What can I do?
Thanks
Mr Djuganight,
What device are you using M9 or M9Pro? I see that you are flashing using the M9 firmware. If you you flash the WRONG firmware you are screwed! Redownload a fresh copy of firmware from Forum.
Theres a way called recovering from "RK3188 Hardbrick" it involves pressing the "power+esc" (before pressing any buttons, the device must be fully power OFF the, then you have to attach the USB cable to device) run the RockChip batch Tool version 1.7 then press the RESET button at the back wait till you hear the PC recognises the device (dont let go of any buttons) press SWITCH then press RESTORE until the flashing process starts only then you release the buttons. (You will have to try a few combinations of reset buttons power/esc buttons combination until you get the "RECOGNISED" by PC)
But in the first place WHAT model are you running because I see that you are flashing using M9 firmware, it seldom happens when running the right ROM that you brick, it is only either you flash while there is not enough battery, wrong firmware or the while flashing the USB cable comes loose.
Please check.

It looks like that KitKat-ROMs are only for the M9 tablets with 2 NAND chips installed. Therefore I would not advise flashing KitKat ROM if you don't know. Doing so can BRICK YOUR TABLET!!!!!!!!
For all who want to be sure weather they have 1 or 2 NAND-chips: Here is a video how to open the M9.
In the lower right corner you can see that the M9 in the video has only 1 NAND-chip. You also can see the free space for a second chip. Don't forget to remove the micro-SD-card and SIM-card before opening the M9!!
Good luck!

Is there no other (simpler way) to do this?

At the Freaktab-Board, in the thread about Riley-KitKat-Rom for M9, they are trying to find a way by using software tools. But until now they didn't have a secure result.
Opening the M9 is not very difficult and if you do it carefully (like in the video) there is no real danger to break something.
No risk - no fun
Hi all,
My experiences with rooting flash on Pipo M9 3G version.
1. DO NOT USE Windows 8 or 8.1 as the USB isn't supported. I used an old XP version to do the job.
2. DO NOT USE USB 3, only use 1.0 or 2.0 version USB again problems if you do.
3. Black screen. If you PIPO ends up with a semi-brick status. Use the Power and Escape buttons while the USB is connected, you should get a beep on the PC. Please make sure that the drivers are correctly loaded for the USB and that you have enabled debug mode in settings.
4. Use RESTORE button to program the Tab, making sure that the firmware matches your Tab as there are different versions of the model, PRO, 3G, MAX etc.
5. Don't open your Tab unless you know what you are doing, there are speaker wires and the GPS wire that can be snapped off through careless handling. If you do open use only a plastic tool or credit card to work around the bezel to release the screen from the back.
6. YET TO RESOLVE on mine is the GPS. It turns on and done the gps.conf update, but no sign of satellites on the apps such as GPS DATA, and GPS TEST. Set date and time and have the uk.pool.net server set for speeding access. Left Tab outside for 20 mins. no joy. On my Zopo Chinese phone the satellites are shown as the program loads, so anyone with some clues where to next would be appreciated.
7. Reason to root was that Google Play refused to allow me to install Sygic Sat Nav App, Now app is installed but I have no GPS, even after checking and soldering the cable again (PROPERLY)
I know someone is going to say that if I need a 10.1 inch tab to see a satnav I should not be driving.
I can confirm that ALL previous version of KASTY ROM JellyBean version the GPS works and my Sygic nav works OK on it too! I can open my Sygic without problems although the satellite lock is difficult to get.
But on the KitKat ROM although the GPS switch is on and can check for satellite the Sygic Nav is BROKEN cannot start up the Sygic Nav apps (maybe some other reason? Will try to get the Sygic from my LENOVO phablet which is working fine?).
Although Google Maps is OK but offline maps software is NOT working I have to resort to much inferior maps apps.
Regarding the use of Win 8/8.1 it is a known fact that we do not use these version to flash because there is no Win 8.1 drivers although there are certain releases with Win8 drivers in it.
You can easily root the RK3188 manually by using a ADB script based called "DANS ROOT Script" you can change the Superuser app from Chainfire to anything else and can modify it to let it install busybox in one go by using "push" and knowing the permission to be set and file location.

My tablet is a PIPO Max M9 16GB and I think the problem is that this kitkat rom is meant for 2 nand devices (32GB versions).
Installing this on 16GB Version tablets, or 1 nand ones, will brick them.
After a while it the pc start recognising it again and I flashed a stock firmware and now its ok.
Using the combination of keys don't work for me as my kids damaged the ESC key.

Hi,
I have a problem in starting my tablet after installing this KitKat rom. (I confirm that I am using an M9 Max)
Actually installing it goes fine (I used Rockchip Tool v1.7 on Windows 7, using the Restore button), the tablet reboots itself and it runs perfectly. Everything is great, Wifi, Bluetooth, installing apps, running games and apps etc. (I assume it's a 2-chip version because it does work)
Restarting the tablet after shutting it down is the problem.
It refuses to start straight away and takes several attempts to start it up. It eventually does after 5 - 15 minutes of trying. The curious thing is if I shut down, but restart within a few minutes, it will restart, but, say I shut down and leave it overnight (an extended period of time) I have the trouble.
After my tablet has booted, everything runs perfectly.
I downgraded back to 4.2.2 (following your instructions) and this booting problem disappears, (so I assume it's not the tablet).
I've since tried KitKat again, but the problem has returned.
I'd appreciate any help/advice.
