The news is that the long awaited RK3288 (with performance equal to Octa Core devices) will be released by none other our favorite PiPo brand.
Pipo working on tablets with the new Rockchip RK3288
Chinese tablet manufacturer Pipo seems to have plans to play on the front of Chinese tablets this year, and wants to release devices with the new Rockchip RK3288 processor as one of the first manufacturers. Pipo is a very popular Chinese tablet manufacturer and has also produced tablets for Archos in the past.
Tablets made by Pipo are not only popular in China, but internationally as well. The reason for this is the mostly high build quality and the nicely customized software most Pipo tablets feature at a comparably low price. We did test the Pipo M7 Pro last year on our German site and were quite satisfied with it.
This year Pipo reportedly wants to be one of the first manufacturers to release tablet PC’s with the new Rockchip RK3288 SoC. This is the direct successor of the RK3188, which we did see in most tablets during the past year. The RK3288 features four Cortex A17 cores clocked at 1.8Ghz and a Mali T-760 GPU, which enables the chipset to play ultra HD content.
Pipo has plans to release tablets in all common sizes, including 8.9-inch, 9.7-inch and 10.7-inch with this new chipset. The tablets will have screen resolutions of 1080 to 2k. More informations are supposed to appear on the Hong Kong Electronics Fair Spring Edition, which will take place next month.
