I had the same problems with wifi and I solved by changing the settings of my router tp-link, I changed the bandwidth of the wifi channell from 20/40 MHz to 20MHz and wifi problems are gone. It is clear that this solution is only valid with the router with 802.11n if you have any problems with the 802.11g standard try to change from short to long preamble.

as it is, I still believe it is firmware problem. Will be complicated because everywhere I go (friend's house or hotel) I will have to change the settings.

After checking by removing wire on place 5-6, I confirm this is WIFI, because my GPS works correctly without and I don't have 3G inside.

Hey guys,

I can read chinese, so I've read the article here regarding the teardown of the Pipo M9.

This is an overview picture of the whole board removed from its casing: Overview Overview2

According to the author, he mentions that the wifi antenna is this piece right here, which he accidentally ripped off. However, he claims that the wifi signal strength is not affected when the device is powered on, despite ripping the antenna off the bezel.

The GPS antenna is this piece: GPS Antenna

If at any point you're not sure about the location of the individual antennas with reference to the main board, just refer back to the overview picture, as posted above.

Have fun guys, I hope I helped. If there's any more translation y'all need just let me know.

@ perdification and xocolocoxoco, sorry but I continue to tell it is the opposite. I have read the article too and I understand you believe him (as I have done at the beginning) but after some test on my tablet, I confirm this is the opposite :

- desoldering of 5-6 : no wifi possible but GPS with 12 satellites :D

- soldering 5-6 and desoldering 3-4 : wifi (not strong, but wifi) and no GPS

Plus, look at this topic : http://www.arctablet.com/blog/forum/pipo-max-m9/pipo-m9-pro-gps-performance/ on post 14 and 16. Tito2k has asked to PIPO and they have answered wich one is WIFI.So, you can beleive me now, the guy has simply done a mistake, an inversion. Now, it's up to you to make the same test yourself.

Feel good ;)

the only hope we have is still an update that actually solve it. Because I already searched in all, I searched the CM10 and other ROMS and that neither had activated the wifi and bluetooh. The two one, or is hardware or firmware problem. Some reported that with the latest update the problem is over, but for me is still 90% better. Really regretted buying the PIPO. Would rather pay more for a samsung or motorola and have a tablet with better performance and wifi works.

@xocolocoxoco

just have a look here after,

http://tablette-chinoise.net/pipo-m9-pro-problemes-wifi-coupures-ralentissement-t2648/page180.html

It is a link where I describe how to fix the problem. Now, I am all the time with max speed connexion (65Mb/s) and never disconected, with quality -40/-45 dbm (-55/-65dbm upstair).

The placement of the antenna is critical, so peraphs you will have to try and try again, but for me, it was fixed directly at the first try.

Just try and enjoy.

Good news? I do not know, but I risked. Do it for your own account.
So...

I used to open my tablet with it. It is one kitchen utensil that is used for buttering bread. I sharpened the tip on a grinding wheel.

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/440/a1k9.jpg/

The wires do not appear to be short.

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/33/2ht1.jpg/

But even so I took it out.

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/855/lsxu.jpg/

And did the welding with two individual wires. I recommend using a wired USB cable that will not be useful. Because it has thinner wires.

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/856/mwd1.jpg/

I used this paste, is a solder paste. It's great to work with solder. But be very careful, because the smoke that loose is corrosive. Use the minimum of the minimum possible.

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/542/pw6v.jpg/

That done, clean! Wipe only where welding was used. Take care with the cloth too, as it can cause electrostatic and take the risk of damaging a component.

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/11/5ioc.jpg/

Ready! Now put the tape in place and mount your XINGLINGYOUNG

Here's a video after that. I have three routers. Two left in the business, and another one is LINKSYS is INTELBRAS (is a reputable company here in Brazil). And the other who stays at home is a INTELBRAS too.

I have not tested the quality of the wifi and it worked. This video I did then so I finished the job.

@ admin, I will translate tomorow because I don't really have time right now.

@xocolocoxoco, you have made 3 mistakes :

1/ don't use 2 differents wires to connect the board to the antenna, because of the MMC (ElectroMagnetic Compatibility). In few words, the conducting core of the wire is "protected" agains electromagnetics radiations with the braided shielding. They musn't be dessociate.

2/you don't have removed the antenna and put it on an electrician tape. After, you will have to adjust the position of the antenna at the corner to have the results sa good as you can.

3/ the aluminium tape is not well placed.

Have you done the firmware upgrade too?

If you respect all of that, you will fix it.

I see no problem with that. I do not know if it's the same system, but for example a notebook, it is the wifi antenna around the monitor. And if you remove the bottom cover where the memory is RAM and hard disk, you will notice that it has two wires and will also direct the antenna.

and yet did not disconnect the wifi :D

and I have no idea where I'll get a thread of thickness here. Only if the internet.

RESOLVED!!!

conclusion! The problem is even in the antenna wire. I did it and filmed it and the problem disappeared. Is directly connected, both tablets. Black and white. To me can close the topic.
