I have an M9Pro which appeared to be dead and I suspect that this problem is happening to others who think that their machines are bricked. The device is fine and works very well but I cannot turn it off as the power button does not respond at all. A short press used to put the device to sleep and a long press raised the power off dialog, now it does neither. If I get the machine off by other means then I cannot turn it on again. The escape button does nothing either and does not function as it should when the machine is running.
I can start it in the following manner, plug in the charger and press the reset once with a paperclip. Immediately the Pipo logo appears pull the power plug and it will boot. If I leave the power plug in then the battery charging picture appears and it does not boot, if I try to press reset with no power plug then nothing happens at all.
The machine charges OK and I have tried both the later stock firmware and a 4.4.2 version from this site. Both work fine but do nothing to make the buttons respond at all.
Any ideas, it is a great tablet and the screen is lovely it seems a shame that is such a delicate flower.

Nobody else I have heard on this forum has faced "dead buttons". I suspect that it is a hardware problem - your ribbon cable connecting the buttons mini PCB to Main PCB has come loose. Please check the condition first , it si not a firmware issue.

Hooray, I braved opening it up and found both switched broken, see picture in link.
I had lent the device to someone who obviously had a very heavy hand. As you can see I slipped a piece of plastic under the switch glued in place (left one done, right one as found). All working again, with updated software as a bonus!!
Regards
