I noticed there is a new March OTA update out but this tablet NEVER seems to see updates. Does this update have to be updated via the firmware tool like non OTA? I still have the original firmware on it from December of last year so just trying to get the OTA one to show up as available. I did download it from the site but I was hoping this would do an OTA update and I wouldn't end up losing everything on it by flashing it with the tool...
Anyone know if there is a way to get this to actually FIND the OTA update and install without the tool?
Havent you read the notice by admin since the first KASTY ROM for M9Pro was out although it is OTA capable it is best disabled as any OTA update will not flash succesfully/loose ROOT access and incompatibility with modifications done to the KASTY ROM like Linux type script capability and the data size which has been changed from standard 2Gb to (if you use KASTY) 4Gb.
If you want to have OTA capability enabled which I doubt it is capable to successfully downlaod and flash. Please use the factory stock ROM. We had this discussion amongst user sometime in Aug-Sep 2013, it shows theres an OTA available but will take ages to download from Chinas site and when it does it fail to flash upgrade the firmware on your phone leaving you with a poer on page that only shows an Adroid robot with an exclaimation mark lying on it back and no boot up unless you press the reset pin near the back camera (theres a small pin hole) But when it boots up you are back to where you are left off previously (that is if you are lucky enough to get the device booting up again)
So if you are so TURN On by the sexiness of an OTA update you have to flash it back to factory stock ROM and HOPE that it will download OTA successfully.(but you are left with 2Gb of data space versus customs 4Gb min upto 16Gb optional during flash other customs ROM ,for KASTY we limit it to 4Gb)
GOOD LUCK in your updates through OTA. My LENOVO Phone never succeeds in doing its OTA updates it only causes to crash (have to downlaod and reflash the latest update starting from scratch is the best option)
