Here are a couple of kernels.

They are both based on the rileyrom 1.3 kernel.

for your information here in the following tables are summarized PIPO STOCK frequency-voltages associations for:

CPU
MHz mV
312 900
504 925
816 1000
1008 1075
1200 1200
1416 1250
1608 1300

RAM
MHz mV
580 1300

GPU
MHz mV
133 975
200 1025
266 1025
300 1050
400 1100
600 1250

now, I've prepared a couple of new kernels:
kernel_cpu1704h_gpu600_ddr720_low_voltage.zip
this one (that I'm currently using), difference with stock are highlighted:

CPU
MHz mV
312 900
504 925
816 975
1008 1025
1200 1100
1608 1200
1704 1300

GPU untouched (next step to be changed...)

RAM
MHz mV
720 1200

antutu score is 19100-19200points

kernel_cpu1800h_gpu600_ddr800.zip
this one (not tested), difference with stock are highlighted:
CPU
MHz mV
312 900
504 925
816 975
1008 1025
1200 1100
1608 1200
1800 1350

GPU untouched (next step to be changed...)

RAM
MHz mV
800 1300

antutu score could be next to 19500-19800points...

On my tablet I tested a modified version with 1.8Ghz with 1.3V (instead of 1.35) and antutu failed to complete.

I suggest you for a long term use to install: kernel_cpu1704h_gpu600_ddr720_low_voltage.zip to save battery... If you don't care battery drain, use the second one (and tell me about battery consumption).
Pay attention to tablet temperatures...

My next steps will be:
increase GPU to 650Mhz (600Mhz is stock)
try to reduce at minimum voltage for every frequency.

I'm sure that the best compromise for CPU frequency is 1.7Ghz.

What program do you use to edit kernels & install them onto the tablets as CWM aborts installation.

a modified version of PJandersonpatchomatic.

To install into the tablet you will need finless rom flashtools 1.37

I currently have an M6 pro test device and doing some tests with overclocked kernels. I should have overclocking available as ArcTools packages once I'm satisfied with performance/battery life. Feedback is welcome for those testing different CPU/GPU/DRAM speed and voltages combinations.

Cheers.

I'm now testing a new kernel with these values for the CPU:

MHz mV
312 850
504 875
816 950
1008 1000
1200 1075
1440 1150
1704 1275

GPU untouched

RAM tested at 720Mhz/1.2V (stable)

and also at 800Mhz/1.3V (stable)

I'll go over than that as soon as I'm sure that the CPU is stable.

Next step is to try to undervolt the GPU without changing the frequency.

What is PJandersonpatchomatic? Can't find anything on Google.

Please share a link for the finless rom flashtools 1.37.

rkpatchomatic allows you to modify RK3188 and RK3066 kernels without having to recompile them from source. It is available from here: https://github.com/phjanderson/rkpatchomatic

finless rom flashtools 1.37 is just a poorly hexedited version of RK Android Tool, the original can be downloaded here: RK_Android_Tool_v1.35.zip

Cheers

Thanks admin. Your the best mate!

What modifications are you making to your kernel for the M6 Pro?

CPU, GPU & RAM overclock without compromising battery life by alot?

The idea is to tweak the CPU/GPU/RAM speed and voltage to get the best out of the tablet. Increasing these parameters lowers the tablet battery life so it needs experimentation to find the sweet spot, if there's something better than what the manufacturer has currently set, which may actually not be the case.

Cheers.

I have just tried using the RK Android Tool to update my kernel & I'm having a problem with the tool recognizing it when it is in boot-loader mode after I press switch. Rockchip Batch Tool has no problems recongnising  that it is in boot-loader mode though. Any idea's?

Finally got my m6 pro into a mode where when i press the volume +

esc and power buttons it gives me some options to reboot or upgrade from external source or wipe cache partition. What do i do at this stage ? I am trying to flash Rileys new rom 1.3a but for the life of me can't.

when in this mode my pc does not recognize my device but when it goes in through usb i can see it but i can't do anything???

Any help will be greatley received. Thanks in advance people.

For those having problems with firmware flashing, you can check the following guides:

Rockchip Batch Tool version 1.7Flashing on the iFive X2

We are working on improving our flashing tutorials, we'll post the new documentation when it's ready.

Thanks giouncino for sharing those kernel images with us,

I just flashed the 1704_cpu_720_ram kernel and scored 19560 points in Antutu in HD mode, very impressive...

What an improvement compared to the first stock pipo rom from august !!!

You're welcome,

I'm now performig undervolting tests to reach the best performance with the lowest power consumption.

I will share with you a new kernel.img soon.

Stay tuned!
