Can anyone help?

I've got a Pipo M6 Pro and I'm using Windows 8.1 X64

I cannot for the life of me get the tablet in bootloader mode

I've tried everything I can think of from holding down the volume + button and power then releasing the volume + button to manually using adb to get it to reboot

The problem I think is I can get the drivers for the rockstar tool to install but cannot get it into bootloader

but I cannot get any "normal" adb drivers to install so I can use the manual adb commands to reboot in bootloader

Is there any other way of getting root without flashing?

Or does anyone have any ideas/suggestions on how to flash a rom?

I've also tried using an x86 version of windows 7 in a virtual machine, same result.

To put the tablet in Bootloader :

Power off Tablet (complete shutdown)

then :

Press Volume+ , ESC button and Power button at the same time, until you hear Windows make the 'deviceconnect' sound and then release all buttons. If all goes well your tablet should stay OFF !

I tought I read somewhere that for Windows 8, the drivers are not working or not stable. I read this about 3 weeks ago so could be changed in the mean time.

Tested today with my M6pro 3G...

CPU Spy did not detect the deep sleep, even if I set the tablet in "aircraft mode"...unfortunately.

Did you install something else that could help going in deep sleep mode??

Proof that deep sleep does work on Kasty ROM, M6Pro Wifi only version ! proof deep sleepImage Enlarger

Nope...Kasty ROM and thats it.

Some other apps like newspaper readers, some games, Antutu benchmark,

But no tools regarding to control anything.(like battery,cpu,....)

I think that the 3G module prevent the tablet to go into deepsleep.

Thats a ROM issue and i hope for you it will be solved with a new ROM...

Bad news.... I agree with you that is a rom issue...

I'm continuing to hope that someone like kasty or riley from freaktab could help improving this firmware adding support for multiwindow and enabling deep sleep mode for m6pro 3g...

I'll wait for the next firmware...

Hi i am new here and just bought a PIPO M6 Pro wifi tablet which arrived yesterday. I have a problem with time and data not syncing, so thought rooting + NTP sync app should fix it, but trying to flash to this Kasty rom is proving difficulat. First this is that outlined hard key combo isn't putting my tablet into bootloader mode ??? Any ideas ?  cheers

edit after multiple attempts it seems to have gone into recovery mode but only the volume - key works down to wipe cache partition, but now stuck there and volume + has no effect ?

yay flashed successfully ! seems it helps if i use my pc's native usb2.0 port and not usb3.0 and have device manager window open to see the driver yellow not found !

first thing i noticed on new rom, much more respsonsive Google play store for multiple app installs !

thanks!

I found that the lack of deep sleep mode is due to the file /system/lib/libril-rk29-dataonly.so on the 3G model.

I tried renaming it and.... Now 3g probably does not work anymore BUT now deep sleep is enabled! Is there any other version of this file that could be used, that enable deep sleep without losing the 3G functionality?

Pipo Max-M6 Pro 32G running this version of Rom.  Massive lag when pushing an icon, nothing else running.  Programs seem ok, speed wise, once running but it seems to take forever to start up a program.  Sometime I hit the icon 3-4 times before it seems to start. Panning from screen to screen seems fine.

I thought it might be the rom, so I tried a riley rom and couldn't even get them to load and run properly.

I read somewhere to turn screen from HD to normal.  This defeats the purpose of buying a retina display doesn't it?

HELP!! and thanks is advance,

Mike

very strange behaviour...

I think that your tablet could have an HW issue...

Never had problems with stock/rileyrom or Kasty roms on my PIPO m6pro 3g 16Gb.

Tablet: Pipo Max-M6 Pro 3G 32G

After reading here and on Freaktab forum I decided yesterday to install this Kasty rom:

Why Kasty:

  • SuperSU included (This is very handy to use the Yelo TV app from our local cable operator).

First impressions:

  • I followed the instructions and links in this thread and installation went smoothly.
  • Very "clean" rom, no unnecessary apps.
  • Antutu score: 18.150.
  • Enabled "multiuser" without problem.
  • Thanks for this rom, ...

Issue:

  • I'm waiting (with giouncino) for a solution for the 3G/deepsleep problem.

You're right,

waiting for the 3G fix, now I've renamed the library libril29***.so as libril29***.so.old. Now I loose the 3g functionality but the tablet finally goes in deep sleep.

I managed also to overclock the tablet without issues! I'm using the tablet with the RAM clocked to 720Mhz (stock are 580Mhz) with less voltage (1.2V with a stock voltage of 1.3V). Now my antutu score is 19.000points!

Next steps are:

RAM to 800Mhz

Processor to 1.8Ghz

GPU if it works... to 650Mhz

My dream is to reach such a results without modify the Voltages (to not increase the battery drain). I'm sure that this tablet can easily goes over 20.000 points!

These modifications are done inside the kernel (without using any android app).
