First post updated:

I added Version 4 with adjusted scaling (CPU Spy shows smoother usage of each step and a slightly higher score in Antutu with 18775).

Thanks Balrog.

I've added your V4 in the ArcTools packages. If you have a few minutes to check it and confirm it deploys fine on your PiPO M6.

I can then make it available to everybody, if works stable and doesn't hurt battery life too much.

Cheers.

Kernel V4 installs and runs fine through ArcTools. :-)

If someone whish I can make a CWM-installable zip also. ;-)

=> Little feedback of the use:

I think Kernel V4 runs at most tablets. I am testing at the moment a version with CPU 1704 (same as V4), GPU 700 MHz and RAM at 800 MHz. As I try 1750 MHz for the CPU I have forced close to the home screen during a game, so I think 1704 MHz for the CPU will be enough (without raising the voltage of course).

Til now I can't say any negativ about the battery drain. All okay with the "deep sleep-mod". :-D

EDIT: Should I upload the stock kernel for those who want try and have the possibility to go bak to stock without flashing the whole rom?

Don't worry about the stock kernel, I have extracted it from latest stock firmware (08/24) for the PiPO M6 Max (non 3G model) and it's now add into ArcTools as well.

So we now have 2 kernels in ArcTools for the PiPO M6 (non 3G model) :

- stock one dated 2013/08/14 (Wed Aug 14 14:33:30 CST 2013)

- Balrog's v4 based on stock 2013/08/14: overclock at cpu1704_gpu660_ddr720

Both kernels should be visible in ArcTools only on M6 tablets provided they haven't a modified model info in build.prop

Following recent tests by Balrog, the overclock kernel seems to be safe enough to try by others, please post your feedback here. I'll make a proper documentation for these ArcTools packages later, right now you can read similar packages for the install process. Don't forget to reboot your tablet after installing the kernel.

Thanks to Balrog for his help !

I've tried to use Balrog's OC 3.1 and 4.1 kernels for the Pipo M6 Max. For both of them my tablet goes to the boot screen and then goes blank. I have to reset the tablet with pin to and then get into recovery to restore a back up. I'm using Riley 1.8 Rom so I'm not sure if that's the issue. I tried loading the kernels using CWM and then 4.1 with arc tools. I can't flash using the flash utility on my PC because I'm on Windows 8.1 so I'm stuck with CWM.

The posted Kernels here are only for use to flash via the Flash-Tool from a PC or to flash it via ArcTools.

Hello:

I've installed the ArcTools and CWM on PipoM6 Max and can see  both :

- stock one dated 2013/08/14 (Wed Aug 14 14:33:30 CST 2013)

- Balrog's v4 based on stock 2013/08/14: overclock at cpu1704_gpu660_ddr72.

How do I flash the overclocked v4 kernel using ArkTools?

I've tried to download and install it from the ArkTools menu , reboot - nothing changes seemingly.

Also, tried to reboot in recovery mode.

What application to use to control the overclocking?

Thank you,

dgaid

You just need to Download and install the package.

If all goes well, the overclocked kernel should be enabled after reboot, you should be able to check the CPU frequency with CPU tools such as CPU Master.

Cheers.

Thank you, admin:

The AnTuTu Benchmark showed 19330 for my tablet, which is 2 times lower than Samsung Galaxy Note3.   Why is that? I thought Pipo M6 has a pretty advanced hardware.

The flashing with ArcTools actually worked, as AnTuTu CPU Master showed.  The default CPU max  setting was 1.704 GHz.  However, it told me that the GPU control is not supported by my device.

Regards,

dgaid

PS:  with scaling set to "performance" the Benchmark was  19750.

Hi!

¿This kernel supports F2FS?
