ClockworkMod (CWM) Recovery easy install for RK3066 and RK3188 -- TWRP/CWM Flash-Tool and root for RK3288
Please donate to support OMA and CrewRKTablets firmware work, thank you !

Here is an Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean rooted firmware for the PIPO M7 Pro tablet based on latest update from Pipo version 1.0.4 dated 2013/10/28 supporting OTA (Over the Air). This firmware is valid for the M7pro in both 3G and WiFI models.
( M7pro_#8_892_ota_20131028_v1.0.4.img )
Build information:
Kernel:Â Linux version 3.0.36+ (root@alex-System-Product-Name) (gcc version 4.6.x-google 20120106 (prerelease) (GCC) ) #8 SMP PREEMPT Mon Oct 28 17:29:16 CST 2013
Android 4.2.2 JB:Â rk30sdk/rk30sdk/rk30sdk:4.2.2/JDQ39/eng.root.20131028.195622:eng/opinions-on-teclast-p90hdst-keys
Notes:Â
-Â Certificate Center and original PiPO launchers have been kept in the firmware
- Certificate Center will ask for product key, which is not needed, just hit later and connect to Internet and it will be activated
- any update received thru OTA may interfere with our custom firmware, we recommend not to apply any OTA update.
Custom firmware features:
- root with latest SuperSU version 1.65 (free version)
- removed most Chinese and unnecessary applications
- Google Play Store fixes so more application are visible/compatible
- updated busybox v1.21.0.git (2012-11-29)
- Unix like init.d boot scripts support, more details on init.d scripts here
- changed permissions on external sdcard to allow write access
- increased space for applications (/data partition) to 4 GB
- kernel modules (cifs, tun, lan, serial, xpad) compiled by Oma &Â Crew RKTablets, thank guys!
- NEW! : optional ClockworkMod (CWM) Recovery easy install package
- all launchers have been kept: stock Android, Kid Launcher and PiPO launcher
Download:Â kasty-pipo-m7_pro-422-ota_104_20131028-rooted4.zip
Flash with Rockchip Batch Tool version 1.7, use Restore button.
Please report any problem with this firmware, I can't verify this custom firmware works as I don't have a PIPO M7 Pro tablet to test the custom firmware.

Modem On/Off in notification bar is missing ( previous official firmware has it. I liked )
I've changed governor to ondemand. Seems better ...

Just to share my experiences for the past week with PIPO M7Pro 3G
Tablet arrived on Oct 25 (7 days) with ROM Date: 20130907-PIPO
[With NewROM 20131028-Rooted]
- Stock Launcher giving "Forced Closed" (have to use PIPO Launcher)
- GPS is as poor as the original ROM (20130907)
I only got one "successful" GPS fix for the past 7 days.
(Tested with GoogleMap, GPS Monitor SWs, and my own GPS app)
- Instagram video is not playing (same as ROM-20130907-PIPO)
- ReBoot when pluging the DC power cord, sometime freezed
(same as ROM-20130907-PIPO)
- 3G Modem is more stable on this ROM.
(Previously, will disappear until turn off/on the modem - FlightMode alone is not enough)
[Still puzzled]
- Google StreetView is installed but won't show up on in the list.
- Google QuickOffice won't show in Google Play.
For some reason, my tablet won't accept the following ROMs
20130911-Rooted, 20130921-Rooted
(Have not try - 20131028-PIPO)
The rest are all perfect and wonderful. The screen is impressive comparable to, or better than, the brand-name with twice the price.
The size is good. 370g is a carry-around weight (one-hand holding)
Perfect for EBook.
Finally, thank for the custom ROM.
Hightly appreciated.

[Forgot to mention - Rockchip USB driver]
I failed to get my Windows 7 x64 (Dell XPS-13 UltraBook) to recognize the tablet in ADB mode (so many tries with so many drivers)
Finally, I can connected with Windows XP 32-bit Fujitsu (My old NoteBook).
But still, my Android development tools (DDMS) could not see the tablet (even with ADB mode). This is very strange since usually DDMS will see the tablet when it is in ADB mode.
Best Regards

I noticed the same thing than you but in fact, you have to turn on modem in network settings and searching for all network operators available.
Then the icon appears in notification bar.

I still don't have any icon in notification or status (quick settings) bars.Â
I don't know why ...

Hello, I do not understand, in the official website of Pipo, the WIFI version, the latest firmware is "M7pro_No 3G_software_english version_20130911" but in this thread and the other you put a newer version.
Due to the problems described above I have put back the official, 20130911 and nothing comes via OTA, so I wonder from where these newer versions will be just for the 3G version?
regards
PD. I see in other pipo Store is the latest firmware PipoStore
