In 2014 I bought a tablet from Amazon called the Polatab Elite Q9.7
I've been looking for ages for an update to this tablet but I just couldn't find any information back then. Polatab didn't even have a website! Basically a one time importer had bought a load of no name/logo E-ceros 9.7" Revolution tablets. They've wiped everything off then passed it of as their own.
The Polatab Elite 9.7" Elite ran a laggy version of JB when it was shipped but no one knew that it was really a E-Ceros Revolution.
I have just spent the last 4 days battling this tablet taking a chance to update Android from 4.2 to 4.4. Tried updating the tablet a few times with different roms but only just read that the boot loader version is King when it comes to not bricking the Polatab Elite 9.7". It is loader version 1.xx only for this tablet!!
The first time I bricked it I nearly had a heart attack and had to pop the back off to find out what was under the hood and it was my first time of seeing the RK3188. I'll glue a couple of copper shims on the rk3188 to make the back panel a sink. After downloading all the Rockchip tools under the sun I'm finally stable on 4.4. Tinypic isn't letting me upload pictures of the motherboard so they will have to wait. Please google HCQ9V1.3 for the Polatab Elite 9.7" motherboard pictures.
It is a nice but aging tablet but the screen is still great. If you've still got yours then update it before giving up on it and I'm sure you'll be surprised!!
Now it's time to try to update to Kasty's rom without bricking the thing..... again. Must remember to change the loader first !! Wish me luck!
One more thing. What would it take to keep the E-Ceros Revolution updated to Android 5 and beyond? I know it's not a simple thing to do but just asking.
Can we use a mobile tracker in this gadjet?
If you can download it from Google play store then yes you can run it on the tablet.
One more thing I didn't use Kasty's rom in the end I instead went with Oma's rom , http://www.arctablet.com/blog/forum/crewrktablets-rk3188-entwicklung-customroms-development-croms/rom-ceros-revolution-ct9716-android-4-4-2-kitkat-custom-root-firmware-20140610/
You must change the loader from v2 to v1!!!
It does crash now and again but what can you do.....
