Android 4.1 JB rooted firmware for the Ployer MOMO7 RK3066 (901 16G) tablet, based on official firmware (MOMO7-RK3066-901-16G-121110.zip)

Kernel: Linux version 3.0.8+ (tangyi@tangyi-MS-7680) (gcc version 4.4.3 (GCC) ) #863 SMP PREEMPT Mon Nov 12 09:40:26 CST 2012

Android 4.1 JB: rk30sdk/rk30sdk/rk30sdk:4.1.1/JRO03H/20120903.182259:eng/release-keys

Custom firmware features:

- root with SuperSU version 0.96 (free version)

- writable /system partition

- removed most Chinese and unnecessary applications

- increased space for application (/data partition) to 2 Gb.

Download: kasty-ployer-momo7-rk3066_901_16g-121110_rooted.zip

Please report any problem with this firmware, I can't verify this custom firmware works as I don't have a Ployer MOMO7 tablet to test the custom firmware.

Hi,

Thanks for firmware.

Is there any information on

  • how to install this firmware ? (I even don't know if there is a recovery on my ployer momo7, there's no volume button to select recovery at boot time !)
  • is it really working ?
  • pros and cons ?

Regards

pierre

We are working on a generic guide for firmware installation, in the meantime you can refer to our Cube forum that contains some posts about the flashing process, it should be the same on the MOMO7.

I can't tell if it's really working as I don't have the device, all I can say is I have built dozens of custom firmwares already, including for devices I don't own, they all run fine.

To pypardo: There is flashing manual on official site with all drivers. VOLUME + it's second button of "volume looking buttons". So I didn't understand this procedure till end, but: switch it off; press+ and power on together and after some sec. put it in usb, only after that it's possible to install drivers. After that all as in manual...

To admin:

It's very good rom, all working fantastic, CPU increase to 1400 MHz instead of 1200MHz was in official rom. Antutu 12100;

Just one question - is it hard to do the same with last firmware (it was added on ployer.cn on 03.12.12)? This device have only one problem - battery and I think in the last off. rom it's working more batter.

If it'll be possible - big big thanks in advance!

Please post the direct download link for the firmware, I'll see if I make an update for the custom firmware. Cheers.

The link and mirrors to this firmware (kasty-ployer-momo7-rk3066_901_16g-121110_rooted.zip) all seem to be dead.  I need this version because (correct me if I'm wrong) all later versions have the touch-sleep issue.  Can you make this version downloadable again?  I have included a download link to the factory 121110 version below, in case you may need to recreate the rooted version.  Thanks!

I just tried the factory 121110 firmware, and the touch screen is great but unfortunately the back camera does not work, which is something that I need.  So there is no firmware with both of these things working well?

Do not buy Momo7 if you just considering buying one. I bought many android tablets from Pandawill and one of them is a wrong construction (Ployer Momo7). It has a very week micro USB port which will most likely break off from the motherboard if you use it – the tablet has to be charged via the micro USB port. I sent it back to China already two times (in good optical condition) and I always got back a not correctly functioning and optically very used device. So I spent the price of the tablet again for shipping and handling and still have a non functioning device. I requested half of the price back from Pandawill (which I think is a correct request) but they said no and offer no solution to my problem.

So I am not recommending Momo7, but it is really your decision.
Surprised
