I guees M1010FP indicates that the OEM is Yifang ;-)

http://yifangdigital.manufacturer.globalsources.com/si/6007000709282/pdtl/Android-tablet/1075237158/Tablet-PC.htm

Odys Xelio Extreme is also Yifang M1010FP. Firmware is here: http://crewrktablets.arctablet.com/?wpfb_dl=1806

Hi oma , thanks for your help, unfortunately each time I try to upload the odys xelio firmware it gives me the red box with load firmware failed, this happens with each folder as follows

I have unzipped the odys xelio firmware but in the rockchip loader i keep getting the red message load firmware failed . (it list's )
boot.img
boot1.img
kernel.img
misc.img
recovery.img
recovery1.img
system.img

although like I said I can't load any of them .load firmware failed!
i can load pipo m8 and pipo m9 which I've read will work on this tablet but the screen stays blank with them
any ideas?

Did you flash a Kitkat build with gen2 loader?

No, originally I flashed an update from nextbook, only it was not for my tablet, I flashed it by mistake, I flashed it using rockchip batchtool 1.7, is this what you mean by gen2loader?
I have subsequently flashed pipo m9 pro firmware using batchtool too, none of it make any difference. still blank screen, I think this is a called soft brick? How do I get the ody xelio firmware to load and not come up with failed to load firmware each time?. do I bneed to unzip it using a different batchtool or something?

That is your problem. You now have a gen2 bootloader on the tab which will not work for the (gen1 loader) builds.

Here is a tool to recovery (just follow the steps in the included picture): http://crewrktablets.arctablet.com/?wpfb_dl=1631

HI Oma, great how to and i'm almost there, followed all the steps under the developememnt tool and no problems erasing ldb etc. then you say

Then run RKAndroidTool:

- untick loader
- EraseIDB
- Run

do you mean go back to the rockchip batch tool? is that the androidtool? if so I can't see where I untick loader. I can't see where I can untick loader in devtool either.

sorry to be so much trouble and your help so far has been great thanks

just need those last couple of steps please

Yes, next step is in RKAndroidTool. Or when you use RKBatchTool just press Restore.

I finally got the 4.2.2 to flash haven't got to test it all out but everything works nice. I hope I'm not going to shut down at 30% power now. My screen flicker seems to be gone:-) I still have to hold the power button down for a long time. Maybe I'll try to the KitKat out see if that helps with the holding of power button down to turn on.
