Hi! I'm borrowing this thread a bit(my first post).
I have recently bought a TAC-7018 and i'm trying to root with the instructions in this thread.
I have installed RKbatch tool 1.5, but when i go into recovery the unit doesn't appear in the bach tool.
It appears when i start the tablet normally though, but from there i can't restore the .img file.
I have USB-debuggin switched ON.
I would be very thankful for helpful comments.
Best regards
//Benny

Are you sure you are in recovery mode?
are you trying to flash it with rkbatch tool 1.5?Â
Did you download the denver package?
This is just the image file
You need the denver tools with the drivers to be able to flash this image to your tablet

Hi
First I just want to thank you for the root for the tac-7018 witch worked great for me! But
I was wondering if there might be an way of rooting the denver tac-70031?
Would it work with your custom firmware? I think the tablet is based on the same firmware but i doesn't use the rkbatch tool it's using Livesuit. is there any way that you could use the Livesuit tool with your firmware or could you might make one for the tac-70031?

Copying the update.img to internal storage or sdcard does the job with manufacturer's updates, but it doesn't work well (or at all) on a custom firmware. This is caused by the partitionning of the different images (system, data, kernel...) which is different between stock and custom firmwares.
May I ask how you edited the .img-file? What tools did you use? Maybe if you let me know how you did or what tools you used I can test root the same android-version but with a different boot version, this one you helped breum with is 1.xx and mine is 2.30 and every time when I try upgrade I end up with fail. Or if sumone else here can help me root the tac-7018 denver with boot version 2.30. This version are the one I need rooted:
http://www.denver-electronics.com/denver-tac-7018-firmware-upgrade/
But if no one have the time to root this version, info on the tools and how-to doesnt take that long to explain, so I can do it myself and post it here for does who need to root this version.
