Hey peeps, I bought a Ceros Revolution not long ago, its a great tablet and a nice piece of hardware, I manage to root it and get the Clockwork into it. The thing is that there is no custom roms that I know about for this tablet. I am looking all over the net and in google and nothing.

I tried searching for Ceros Revolution, Ceros CT9716, RK30Board, RK3188, etc... You know, stuff related to the tablet, but by the end of the day, I end up without anything solid. I am wondering if anyone here knows any kind of secret to get kitkat into this tablet, or just custom roms into it, like some other china tablets.

thx

I am not so sure at all, but some guy in another website had issues with his tablet, tech support gave him what appears to be original stock files.

Here is the copy paste with the links.

Thumbs up Ceros Revolution original firmware

I contacted E-Ceros regarding the low speed issue and in less than 12 hours I got answer suggesting that I should install the original firmware:

"For original ROM of Ceros Revolution, please download from our Sales and Marketing partner - Chinavasion:
download.chinavasion.com/download/Others/ceros_rev_firmware_install_9470.pdf
download.chinavasion.com/download/Others/CVNZ-9470-White_FW.part1.exe
download.chinavasion.com/download/Others/CVNZ-9470-White_FW.part2.rar
download.chinavasion.com/download/Others/CVNZ-9470-White_FW.part3.rar
download.chinavasion.com/download/Others/CVNZ-9470-White_FW.part4.rar"

Even though the original firmware (20130806) was older than the one in my tablet (20131024), I decided to install it and have say that my Ceros runs smoother than ever and hopefully the low speed issue is SOLVED!

Please note that installing this firmware will erase all your data and that so far I was not able to root the tablet. But even with the tablet unrooted it is much faster than using CPU Control over the rooted original version that came with my tablet.

Hope to hear anyone else experience with this firmware.

I hope those things help a little bit. You see, the thing is that I got the tablet, no idea where the original rom is over the net, then I rooted it and got the generic version of Clockwork into the tablet... Without roms to mess with lol! So far the only thing I can do is backup and restore, sad me... I have seen other RK3188 tablets and its set of custom roms, I tried to install some of those but no luck, nothing seems to work, I dont know if it had something to do with the Batch Tool, the actual Rom or the Clockwork...

Anyway, I better go before I keep talking...

EmbarassedIt is a long shot but try ROOTING it using VROOT (google for the latest version) It will however install Chinese Superuser that don't require "busybox" All of my Android 7pcs in total uses SuperSU except my latest LENOVO A880 MT6582 (where other rooting exploit fails , this one took only less than 20secs) phone which I am happily using VROOT (that's the latest version). Don't try to install busybox it will screw up your firmware.

Hey, that tablet in the review have the exact same specs of my tablet, the only difference is that in about mine says that it is a CT9716-B because is black and not white... I guess W means White in that review.

The thing is that the above firmware was given to someone who had some issues with his tablet, I never manage to install that firmware at all, I am using the factory default one, I suppose it is the same, but! I havent tried installing that firmware directly...

by his tablet I mean another Ceros Revolution.

Anyway, you think I should try to install that firmware in the above link directly into my tablet first?

is that a cmd kind of stuff, the one used by the android sdk?

Ok its doing something in the android terminal emulator... Let me see what kind of stuff I get out of it... the system one is taking a while to build up.

note: I tried to install the firmware in the previous link but no luck at all... I am following the instructions and the chinese tools doesnt recognize my tablet, odd thing because I already have all the drivers in win8 x64...

Boot and kernel looks ok. Recovery is not stock it's a CWM.

Ceros Revolution seems to be sold under:

- product code CVNZ-9470

- product code CT9716

- B=black or W=white one

Kernel from the CVNZ-9470-White/CEROS CT9716-W is: dont #191 preempt 02.08.2013

Kernel from your dump is: hc #345 preempt 24.10.2013

This is a bit special but could be. However, with the CVNZ-download pack you have a complete fall-back.

Open the terminal and give me the result of: cat /sys/class/rkwifi/chip

Hey, I am working on this, in the terminal emulator, but I am getting permission denied and all sorts of stuff that doesnt seem to be the thing...

note: After looking at other threads, I suppose the thing we need is the MT59 thingy without the root right... In that case I get something like

MT5931u0_a107@android:/ $

Ok, Mediatek MT5931. Can you pls try this build? http://crewrktablets.arctablet.com/?wpfb_dl=1568

Kernel CT9716 - http://crewrktablets.arctablet.com/?wpfb_dl=1570

Kernel CVNZ 9470 - http://crewrktablets.arctablet.com/?wpfb_dl=1572

Just change the kernel before flash. Instructions are included, maybe you need another key kombination to get into flash mode.

Ok, after hours and hours of no go in Winblows 8... I manage to get it on the first go in a windows 7 machine... DEAR ME!!!!!

A few details..

- Kernel 9470

- Your custom rom 4.2, with the nova launcher.

- wifi is working...

- bluetooth is working

- speakers are working... The thing is that this tablet doesnt have volume keys at the side of power, so it needs them in the android taskbar, it was odd but they went away and reppear, its like the android relialize the lack of volume keys at some point lol.

- but! The internal memory was a bit of a messy part. I used the nand internal fix, before the update it was 2gb of internal memory and 12gb in the nand, now it is 4gb internal and 10 nand... (note: had to do some formatting magic)... Its not a big deal if you ask me but who knows if that information helps...

- Both Cameras are working.

-HDMI... havent been able to test... I keep posting as I go...

- sensors... Some of them work, some others dont, all I know is that I got a few wonky apps and I had inconsistent stuff all around the place, all I know is that this tablet doesnt have a lumens sensor

--- Anomaly... For some reason when I touch a screen icon in the home screen, my screen turns upside down and it doesnt let me select the icons...

Can I take one of those kitkat roms and install it?

Ok, sounds good. Whitout volume rockers: what is the key combination to start flash modus?

Partition layout is different, so you have a bigger internal memory partition.

Pls install this fix: http://crewrktablets.arctablet.com/?wpfb_dl=1369. Can you now pick-up the icons?

Try this app for soft-volume keys: http://crewrktablets.arctablet.com/?wpfb_dl=293
