Hey folks,
I would like mirror my Ondas screen onto a HDTV using the micro HDMI slot and I have a couple of questions about this, Do I need a special micro HDMI lead/adaptor or will any do?
Also do I need an app or something to achieve this or is it plug a play?
This is my first android device so please go easy on me and any advice is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
One the V972, I think that the HDMI connector is a mini HDMI (type C) not micro HDMI.
Just make sure you get the right connector for your device.
Apart from that, it's quite plug&play, put the cable in and you should see your tablet screen mirroring on the TV.
(from Wikipedia)
Please let us know how it goes.
Cheers.

So my HDMI cable arrived today so I hooked up the tablet to the TV and... nothing happened 🙁 I looked in settings but I don't see anything about displaying on TV.
Does anyone have an idea what I might be doing wrong, or has anybody got this working on their tablet?
Thanks very much guys.

See this recent thread about the same thing on my V813. I got it working by trimming back the plastic at the cable end and also the curved side of the tablet where the cable goes in.

Hi Pingu,
Thanks very much for your reply, I can clearly see that the USB cable provided by Onda has a much longer end than my micro HDMI cable now you have pointed it out! I will give this a go when I have a few spare minutes.
Thanks again for the tip buddy, you are a legend

I've seen the same thing and I've ordered a HDMI cable from Hong Kong that says it's for the V972 , which I'm assuming also makes it OK for the V973 as I believe they have the same design 'feature'.
I'll be interested how you get on.
Hi Pas,
I may be wrong but I think the V972 has mini HDMI and V973 has micro HDMI (see admins post above), I'm sure another user can clarify this however.
Good luck.

They may sell one but...the Onda site is only in Chinese and one can't buy direct. I could not find one on their site.
Most tablets come from dealers like Onda-tablet.com etc
I bought my V813 from there and also ordered an HDMI cable at the same time. They sent a mini and not a micro cable so there was no chance with that.... mind you it was about a pound so it was more hassle to send it back!
I bought another cable on ebay and did the chopping stuff.

Bugger. That's the case. My laptop uses that style of connector so all is not lost.
My new OTC cable didn't work either. Given it was useless as I have another one for my other tablet I threw caution to the wind and trimmed the casing back. That works now.
All I did to chop it was saw down to the metal using a sharp kitchen knife. It wasn't very difficult. I'm not responsible for any accidents anybody else may have using this method!
I also thought I'd give the HDMI another go and cut back the casing on a hdmi adaptor I have. That didn't work. I see no mention of HDMI anywhere in the setup either. On my 7 inch tablet there is an entry for HDMI in the settings. Could it be the V973 can't do HDMI? Anybody got it going?
