In fact it is not so very nice as mentioned... The wifi disconnects and can not connect again, it says "failed to connect". I have to do a reboot to connect again. What is happening?

If you do a hard reboot, it shows the Chinese lady forever. It is very disturbing!!! You should not put junk like that in releases for public. What was the logic?

How we can remove this completely inappropriate image?

The Chinese lady as boot logo comes from the official release from Onda, not us; feel free to complain to the manufacturer. This image is just left in our release as our initial try to change it prevented the tablet to boot.

How is that possible unless the pictures has something specific embedded in it so that at boot is looking for.

But again, if this picture is set by Onda why does not appear at boot with the original f/w from Onda, the f/w that arrives with? Thank you for your reply.

What about the Wifi problem? Any fix soon or advice?

The picture of the Chinese lady were added by Onda in the last firmware release and if you load the latest stock Onda firmware, you will see them too.

Here are my findings about this release. I hope to be wide issues so that the developer could fix these.

- WiFi is sometime intermittent. In the router, based on the tablet's MAC address I reserved an IP for it. I will see if this will improve the connection.

- The videos like music clips or movies with extension avi, mkv, mp4 are playing OK but the sound is terrible. This is when using headphones and expecting for the sound to be good. The files are OK and are used on other devices. I have tried this with 4K player and two others players, including VLC. It sounds like in a metal can and the voice is very week, something like it is a filter enabled and mid frequencies are cut completely.

Please report/confirm on this issue. Is it fixable?

I found that using a motherboard installed USB did the trick (back of the PC). Quite possible that other USB's do not have the power required to the flash. This is what worked for me after I tried few times on different USB's.

I was in the point to quit with all upgrades after I tried to bring the fkn tablet in recovery mode. After I tried also the rear USB's, I said, I'll give it two more shots on another computer. This was a MAC loaded with Windows via Parallels. And it worked!

Going back to the 1st PC, I have uninstalled, rebooted, re-installed the Phoenix s/w and then it worked! (Go figure!). I had to re-write the f/w few times since I keep writing the wrong one (v1).

If your Phoenix s/w does not detect the tablet in regular mode with all USB drivers installed, then it will not work the above.

Wifi and poor sound quality are two main issues with stock v973

If they are present in this release then what is the point of trying this release? Are there any other advantages really?

So everything seemed to be OK, I finished the backup using Titanium purchased version and I was happy. Loaded some vids and I connected the tablet to the TV via micro HDMI. TV did not detected the cable and of course no image.

Then the WiFi disappeared (again). So I did a long reboot and then on black screen I get "Installer failed to start" and nothing. Waited for a minute, nothing happened. Powered down and done again a long reboot with the ugly on the screen but this time it stuck to the very first square picture of the CPU All winner and stays like that forever.

Tried again, shut down the power, insert the USB, detected, the CPU image appears but it is stuck to this image. WTF??? Did I just screwed this tablet?

I said once that I will not buy junk anymore and here I am. What is happening?

I had to load the f/w and start from zero. It sucks big time. Now it works.

So, what was it, the h/w or the s/w or both?
