I just purchased Onda V972 V2 Last week. It came with old android OS and the ad claimed they would have 4.2.2 loaded. It did not happen. So by reading your blog I discovered I need to flash the new ROM Os. That was a chore but I got V972Core4_v3.2.1_v2.img from Onda on to the tablet. There are a couple of items I find that are not good.
1. My /mnt/extsd (extsd) external 32gb secure digital card can't be written to from within the tablet. It is read only. Also, the os only has a mount and unmount function nor formating or clearing of the extsd. This also prevents me from offloading applications to the extsd and moving pictures and music there.
2. I also lost the screen grab function that the prior os had.
3. When I attach to my PC the v972 connects with the very old connector that takes the tablet off line. My Samsung G3 phone running 4.2.1 mounts the phone like it was a camera devise and allows access to both SD and extsd and leaves the phone operational. Is this unique to Samsung?
I read this thread and do not know the difference between V972 v1 and the v2. I am wondering if the rooted image that you mentioned in the last item would be better for me or if there may be another fix for my extsd.
I have quite a number of installed applications and would hate to flash the device again but if your build is nervana than I might take the plundge.
Please Advise. Thanks.
I can hardly promise nirvana but flashing our custom firmware brings some improvements over the stock firmware, among other things you should get write access to your external sdcard.
