ClockworkMod (CWM) Recovery easy install for RK3066 and RK3188 -- TWRP/CWM Flash-Tool and root for RK3288
Please donate to support OMA and CrewRKTablets firmware work, thank you !

No 3.3 update is available for the Onda V972 so farÂ
We rely on Onda updates to rebuild a new custom firmware. It may be possible to reuse a firmware from other devices and mix it with an existing V972 firmware, but probably not worth the trouble as there is no guarantee is would work properly.Â
Cheers.

Hi Guys,
I am having a horrendous time trying to update my Onda 972.
Firstly, no idea what version i have.
Secondly, I can only install from a SD card as i can't get any flashing programs to work, PhoenixSuit says WinUSB fail and doesn't see my tablet.
The only ROM that i have found that installs is cm-10.2-20131116-UNOFFICIAL-spark but the touch screen doesn't work once booted up so is useless.
I have tried every ROM i can find but they are either .img files (so can't install) or when i put it on an SD card the tablet doesn't see it as a ROM so i can't install.
Any help anyone can give i would be really grateful.

You can get the version number from the serial on the back of the tablet, look at Vn (where n is 1 or 2)
Do not use Windows 8 or Windows 7 64 bit while flashing the tablet with phoenix, usually it doesn't work
The ROM you mentioned is CyanogenMod (CM) and you should read its forum to understand how to flash it on Onda since it was developed for Ainol Spark (and hence the spark in the file name)

The version of the tablet is written in its serial number on the back cover. If you see a v1 in the serial number then its version 1.Â
If you have problems with winusb then either your usb hardware is broken, you have viruses on your pc or you're missing your winusb.dll. Search google for fixing winusb problem.
and don't forget to read through this tutorial before flashing:

Mary be it would be interesting to have android default browser as default and this onda browser as an option. If the browser is installed in app space it can be uninstalled.
Anyway, thanks for the amazing work on this releases.

Thank you for working on Kasty 3.3.1 so quickly! Â I have a v972 v2 tab and your ROM makes it much better. Â I use Nova Launcher so usually freeze (TitaniumBackUp) stock launcher anyway. Â
Thank you for your work! I plan to donate to support it when you release 3.3.1 (especially if there are no Chinese models in the boot animation hahaah)
