Sometimes side loading works. Sometimes not. For example: Google+. I cannot get it to install. It does not appear in the Play Store at all. Sometimes I can load an app using the apk but not always. I have tried Amazon and Aptoide.

Anyone know what might be going on with my wife's 972? I shut it down and when I turned it back on it displays the Core4 and the Onda logos then a green screen with a green cross and Chinese words pops up.

It kind of sounds like Android's version of Window's blue screen of death, but in green. Hopefully it's a software problem and not a hardware problem. Sometimes when something like this happens, it's because of something that got installed (or something important that got removed) and it's making Android unstable and unresponsive. Well, I guess as a last resort you can try a clean re-install of the firmware using PhoenixSuit and see if this fixes your tablet.

Hi I believe that if there is a problem will try to fix it just leave it on m with the tablet then this screen comes on and it, I had it done to me and I just left it and it did fix it self, hope this helps.

I just received two of these direct from China, and flashed them to this firmware. Everything seems to work fine except that the camera stopped working. When I try to load the camera it says: "cannot connect to the camera".

I don't know if maybe they changed something with the hardware. I just received these today, so they are brand new. The even had the stock firmware of 2.0 (chinese).

Any suggestions would be a big help.

Running an Onda v972 V2 that is actually a V1 (even stock V2 FW doesn't work) Updated to a Samsung Galaxy Note 2014 now. Working as a data recovery engineer at Data Medics data recovery company. The firmware on this topic is made for Onda V972 tablet with Hardware V1.

Your recent acquisition is probably a new model that needs a different firmware.

Do you have a sticker on the back of the tablet, or on the box, does it mention the letter V and a number

like V1, V2 ... V5 ?

I did actually install V2 version 2.0 firmware and it is a V2 tablet. Sorry I guess I posted on the wrong thread.

The serial #'s are V972QBD4V2E00213 & V972QBD4V2E00220

Hi, Is anyone having an issue with a full charge only showing 49% battery after flashing to 2.0? I tried flashing it twice and no solution. Also, how do I reduce the DPI to increase the tablet speed?

I am trying this ROM and until now I'm happy with it.

One suggestion that I have to make is to correct the issue of the stock Rom that prevents apps to write on SD card. This can be done by adding one line on /system/etc/permissions/platform.xml:

1 <permission name="android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE" >

2 <group gid="sdcard_rw" />

3 <group gid="media_rw" />

4 </permission>

Line 3, the bold line, corrects this issue.

However I also noticed that /system and/or /etc file systems are ReadOnly mounted.

Can you take care about these issues?

Hello John,

The SDcard write permission fix will be included in our next custom firmwares, I'll eventually make a package for ArcTools so current firmwares can be easily updated.

/system partition is mounted as read only but can easily be turned as read/write. Most File Explorer make for root access permit it, or you can do adb remount command if you have adb setup for your tablet. This feature may also find its place in an another ArcTools package.

Use an app called "File Manager HD (Tablet)" from google app store. In the program's settings enable root explorer, browse to the folder and you can edit the XML file. It's a free program and has a built in xml text editor. Worked great for me.

Hello everybody
i have two firmware for two Chinese tablets they have the same possessor ram all things is same ,just a camera and the screen is not the same ...
the first firmware (rom ) is good and much better than the original firmware for my android tablet .... and i try to install it and it s working well .. but i have two problems the camera and touch screen didn't work ....

so how can do to fix this problems .. ... what i should take from the original ROM to make it on the other ROM ?
or can you do it for me ?? i can send the two roms...
please tell me what i should do for any questions i am here to answer thanks ....
