Don't get upset.  I bricked my 972 yesterday by unplugging the usb cable by mistake while running the Phoenix routine to flash the v1.33 firmware upgrade.  All you need to do is the following:

1.  Hold down on the "power" button for a count of 20 just to be sure the tablet is powered off
2.  On your laptop/pc, start your Phoenix program and follow the normal instructions for flashing the 1.33 upgrade.  Your laptop/pc won't be able to recognize a connection to the tablet.  Just ignore and select the "firmware" button and proceed to select your flash file and connect your tablet to your laptop/pc.  See #3
3.  When you hold down the "home" button, connect the usb cable, and press the power button 10 times you should see the Phoenix program recognize your tablet like normal (even though it didn't recognize the tablet at step #2).  When you get the upgrade window click "yes" to format and upgrade your firmware.  When finished, disconnect usb and power-up the tablet.  This should solve your problem.  It worked for me.  The way Onda has set up this tablet it is almost impossible to brick it.

Hope this helps.

@jyams, Thanks a million.

I was able the computer finally recognize the tablet after several trials and was able to load back the V972 firmware. Its now working, though with firmware v1.32 (but that is way better than a bricked tablet).

Please when is the rooted v1.33 for V972 going to be available?

Thanks, Thanks and Thanks.

You are VERY welcome.  I've been helped by many others before so just trying to give back to the community.  Keep watching the OP (original post #1) in this forum and you should see the post updated to reflect the rooted image is ready for download.  Right now the post says "soon".  The OP said in a later post that it would be "ready by the weekend", so today maybe??  He also said there would be a custom CWM Recovery available also.  Although, Davlin has said that the stock recovery in v1.33 is a touch recovery.  I already loaded a CWM version before checking, so am hoping someone will post the stock recovery image from v1.33 for me :) .  Thanks.

I'll publish a first custom firmware based on official 1.33 today, I don't have enough time to complete all I wanted to do on it, so I'll improve it later, will post here when it's ready.

About Recovery, I already mentioned in post #1 that I have made available an easy ClockworkMod Recovery (CWM) installation, see details here.

Cheers.

Please make a firmware release in CWM Recovery ZIP format. I cannot use PhoenixSuit tools with my brick, only CWM recovery is alive.
