Hi there,

As always when I want to connect my Onda V972 to be able to flash it's the beginning of the nightmare!

I thought I finally found the right drivers (USB) but this time nothing to do.

I'm running Windows 8.1 UK 64 bits and nothing is working.

I tried the Google universal driver ... not working (doesn't install)

I tried AdbDriverInstaller ... first doens't install (now as I tried others it show a driver is installed)

I tried zadig_2.1.0 ... successfully installed the driver (YES!) but nothing change !

(now AdbDriverinsttaller show "Google "Android(interface1) installed")

But still no device detected by Phoenix!!

I saw that some people go to modify the inf file of the driver ... but ... pffff ... why so complicated!

I have my tablet detected by windows (I see "Onda" and my SD card inserted in my Onda on My PC) but can't understand why Phoenix doesn't detect it!

In the "device manager/universal serial bus" I have a question mark before "USB Device(VID_1f3a_PID_efe8)"

I suppose it's the problem?

In an other way I have a "Android" listed under "Universal Serial Bus devices".

So V972 detect by windows, show as device but not detected by Phoenix!!

Please any help !!

Thanks a lot

Best regards

Pierre

This is a known problem of w8.0/8.1

It doesnt like to install not signed drivers.

I had the same probs installing sound card in my dads pc with w8.1

Try google on how to install unsigned drivers in windows 8.1

http://www.howtogeek.com/167723/how-to-disable-driver-signature-verification-on-64-bit-windows-8.1-so-that-you-can-install-unsigned-drivers/

Or use a different computer with w7 to flash

Good luck

Yes I know that. I search and search for a solution on the Net!

Tried different drivers without success!

I can't understand Onda doesn't try to figure out this problem and give us good drivers for all the OS!

The only thing I want now is to be able to buy an iPad!

The problem is with microsoft....not onda

Especially windows 8

But if u follow the link u can install any non signed driver in w8

I did this many times for difftent hardware like soundcards, printers, wifi etc...

Good luck with apple....which is imo. Overpriced and more difficult to mod anything than android

Just do it again ... not working in Windows 8.1 64 bits !!

Not so agree with you ... yes Apple is more expensive but what a difference in kind of quality level !!

I agree for the mod part ! ;-)

But to be honest, I'm Geek since 30 years and now I spend less time to try to change things !
