Hi guys,

Quick Q. even thought the specs say up to 32gb, is it possible to use a 64GB ! searched around but nothing concrete on this :) New Onda should be with me soon :)

Up-date: just got in from work, & guess what; my new Onda v972 as arrived, great.  OK I am leaving it on charge until this time Sunday, keep fingers cross the battery life will be OK, but even more fingers crossed the new firmware comes early next week : sweet.. :)

Well, I put in my SanDisk Ultra 64gb micro SD card into my V972 (using kasty-onda_V972_V1-422-v30_20130522 firmware) and it read the chip, saying I had 59+ Gb available, I copied files over to it and they read fine so, I would say yes.

In that case m8, will be obtaining 64gb very soon, cheers :)

OK up-date started playing with Ondao v972 v1, decided not to configure up-to-date firmware, left it with the stock 4.1.1 (Mar 26th) waiting for the new firmware hopefully next week sometime. ¬†Started playing at 14:45 its almost 15:00 & the battery is lasting much much better than the previous one. ¬†will up-date when its depleted later with time up-date. ¬†ūüôā

Well, the Kasty 5-22 update is the best firmware I've used on the 972.  Its best to do a complete data wipe when doing the firmware update.  I use a CPU governor to keep the speed slightly above 1000 (slowest) and slightly below 1200 for Max speed. Battery life is slightly disappointing, no where as good as my wife's iPad, but for the price of this unit I wasn't expecting Nirvana.

Cheers

Hi Pete,

Works wonders, all ports work, the boot is in deed 5 sec, battery life is good, but that can be down to a new replacement, anyway very good, apps work fine & browser works fine, fluid movement, haven't had anything crash at the moment, keep my fingers crossed all is well.  One thing I did notice today is WiFi for some reason dissapperd, re-bot OK.  Weird !

Well, I'm very pleased with this newest Kasty firmware flash. The tablet works incredibly well now.....snappy, browsing is no longer a source of discontent, touch screen accuracy seems to be better, fast boot is good (didn't really matter that much to me), WiFi is better for me (I did drop to WPA from WPA2 using the previous firmware flash and just left it there) but I can't say that battery life has improved at all; I'm even using a CPU controller set at 120 - 1152 using fantasys.

Still, this is the best firmware by far.  I'm still stymied by the lack of brightness with this tablet if one uses it outside or in brightly lit situations.  My $99 Touchpad is much brighter, albeit with a much lower resolution.
