Thanks for the tips! I installed the above and it worked smoothly and perfectly. All the problems I mentioned earlier with v2.3 Beta were gone. The only question for me now is how to root it. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

I am building a custom firmware with Apps cleaned, setup in English and root, it should be published in our V972 forum section shortly, stay tuned !

PLEASE ANY TWEAK TO MAKE THE BATTERY LAST LONGER WOULD MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE FOR THIS TABLET.

I would suggest changing the A31 governor from fantasys to ondemand, and set min. CPU frequency at 624MHz.
My max. frequency set is 1.200MHz (at my risk...)
I think this can save energy quite a lot otherwise clock will work at 1GHz constantly.

Just seen this on another site, (sorry searching around) very interesting, even though my knowledge with tablets is rubbish.

Onda has not enabled any power management features of the tablet yet. There is a power management chip, and the A31 has power management as well not being used. The A31 is being ran at 1ghz even when idle. If you factor that in with battery life right now at 4-4.5 hours , just think what it should get once those features are enabled.

I am going to have a search around to see whether there is a way to enable this feature on the Onda v972.Â

A funny thing happened to my v1 V972 16gb tablet. I was getting ready to install v3.0 and set USB Debug mode to ON. Turned off the tablet and turned it back on. It showed the Allwinner A31 logo and then the next screen with the silly little flashing icons and there it stayed. If I held down the power button it would shut off but then would boot back up to the white screen. There it sat forever.Â
Not sure exactly what I did to fix it other than boot into Recovery mode, wiped the cache and reset to factory default. Booted up just fine at that point.

Today my wife's 972 did something funny. It reset itself to the same status as a fresh kasty 2.3 install. Had to reinstall everything.
We are still on 2,3 because 3,0 is not working for us.Â
