ClockworkMod (CWM) Recovery easy install for RK3066 and RK3188 -- TWRP/CWM Flash-Tool and root for RK3288
Please donate to support OMA and CrewRKTablets firmware work, thank you !

Tablets will always heat up a little when under a workload like a 3d game. How hot does it get and how fast? Also do you notice the battery dropping charge quickly? If so it could be a hardware issue, possibly a bad chip that is generating a lot of heat due to a malfunction.
In any event I would definitely try flashing to the latest Kasty firmware, it fixes most of the software bugs, so at least you can rule that out.
Running an Onda v972 V2 that is actually a V1 (even stock V2 FW doesn't work) Updated to a Samsung Galaxy Note 2014 now. Â Working as a data recovery engineer at Data Medics data recovery company. Â Here's my homepage. Â If you have a data recovery issue with your tablet PM me. Â I'm not here too often so I might not see a topic reply.

thanks im downloading it right now. this is my third tablet. i exchanged it from the store cuz the first one heats up even im not using it. and also battery depleted so fast, i returned it to the shop and flashed it to version 2.0 firmware (official). the battery and heating up solved. but i saw residue it seems a redish spot on the lcd so i returned it.
2nd one. touch screen problem.
this is the third one. it heats up if im playing candy crush or using facebook. battery life is okay so far. about a minute or 2 it starts to heats up.
talking about bad luck   i dont want to go there anymore. its kinda waste of time ill try kasty's firmware

Hello,Â
I think, if the final JB-ROM is as might be expected from the beta versions, the v972 can be used as each of us wants.
In the Beta's I've tested I can determine, for example, a substantially improved wifi connection and battery life.
Something bothers me:
JB 4.2.2 has two pulldown menus. On my Nexus 7 - top status bar - one on the left side for notifications and one on the right Side for quick access to the system settings. The left menu works in the Beta-Versions for the V972 by tapping left on the status bar, the right doesn't work by taping on time. If this feature is not supported in the JB-Version for the V972?I noticed the same, comparing Android 4.2 JellyBean with my Google Nexus 10.
Not much we can do for now, I think Onda Android 4.2.2 implementation is just missing that right side status bar handling, they'll hopefully correct it in a future firmware.
Cheers.
Hello,
I am happy ... I've found the "972Android 4.2 TabletUI-Patch" on  o n d a b b s. c n
and now I've the JellyBean-Functionality I want. Installed as a local update. But I think
i have to reinstall the android-provider-patch from a previous posting.
Regards.
Can you please provide a link to the actual site. My Chinese isn't so good.

Hi, first post here.. Thanx for all your work on v972
Can someone repost the ..baidu... file above... link expired...
Is that the 4.2.2 (v2.3) official release? what kind of files are them?
Thanx in advance!!
Another question:I'm waiting to put the official v2.3 for warranty reason.. do you think that, with the kasty 2.3 rooted 6 flashable, this does make any sense? (in other words: if i put the kasty and warranty issues can i always put the stock firmware back?)
Rethanx
PhoenixSuit is a "low level" flashing tool, it should always be able to flash another firmware, may it be an older or newer version, no matter which firmware you have currently installed.

just an update:Â
with 2.3 update. my tablet is better now. tho i can still feel its warming up.
is it normal for android tablet to warm when i play games? i dont know really cuz this is my first android tablet.
It's quite usual that tablets get warmer when the processor is under heavy load.
Still, everyone appreciate temperature differently and may not consider the same way on how it gets hot.
If you have access to an I/R thermometer, let us know about the temperature, which part on the tablet you measured it, so we could compare it with other devices.
Cheers.
