It passed more than one month when it was noticed the new custom release Android 4.2.2 (3.3.1) for Onda platforms. Currently the custom firmware is available for V972 V1 and V2, for V975 and for V973 v1 only. There is no custom f/w for V973 V2

It has passed more than one month and I wish to ask: will it be ever released the new 3.3.1 or we will have to go with the "official" Chinese crap?

This release has few tons of Chinese bloatware, poor resolution, ugly icons!

I have two V973 v2, one loaded with the new garbage onda f/w. In the new Chinese release all icons are larger (?!), uglier and are forced square and some of them look incorrect, with white or other shit around it result of forcing them to appear square. Using the same wallpaper as before, it shows that is it zoomed in more and you can not tune is as before. It shows a poor resolution. It is like I have a 800x480 res crapy tablet.

The previous white round circle with 6 dots that takes you to the apps page, does not exists anymore, all apps are listed on the main pages only! Where are the widgets? How to customize the home pages without widgets? The way it looks, it seems that I "upgraded" from Android v4 down to v2 or even v1

What is actually going on, what am I missing?

Oh yes, the positive thing: Onda guys finally removed the ugly girl at boot. Kudos for that!
