The battery of my Onda V972 v1 is again bulbing ...

I've replaced it already 14 months ago and I'm tired of ordering, replacing/fixing this crap batteries.

If I take/solder out the battery will the tablet still work on usb charger ?

Yes, I did the same.

This crap isn't worth investing one more single cent.

Hi Fredo.

I remember reading somewhere that the common cause of Li-ion batteries bulging is because of overcharging. A friend of mine has a different tablet and encountered this problem also. My guess is that he constantly uses his tablet whilst the USB changer is still connected. Although technically the tablet is running off the charger it is not really getting enough juice to power it fully. I wonder if the charger you use is the charger that was included with the tablet or are you using another type. Some chargers do charge quickly and others charge with a trickle feed which are much slower. It's not just this tablet, it appears that other tablets aren't immune to this either.

With regards to taking out the battery, as an idea, what if you can find a transformer that has a 3.7V DC eg an old mobile phone charger or something similar that has regulated voltage (I'm not too sure of the Amperage output though) and solder the wires or an input terminal directly into the motherboard where the battery goes. I wonder if that'll work. It might be worth investigating. I have not done this myself and don't know of anyone who has either but wonder if its possible. Has anyone else tried this?

With this latest battery I charged mostly with the delivered usb charger. But that charger was already replaced (together with usb cable) 6 months after I bought the tablet. Original charger was not working anymore, vendor has sended a new one but maybe it was not the correct one ... ?

When I use the charger of my GSM the tablet loads slower ...

Nevertheless, I will solder out the battery and work only at home with the tablet (for reading the newspaper in the weekend).

That's the only thing I do with it, for other things I prefer PC

Nope, my tablet was in the shelf, unused without charging for about three months, when the battery became pregnant.

Yes, I did it and it works.

I use the 2A charger from my Asus Fonepad, the original, crappy charger died within two month or so.

I've took out the battery and now my tablet is not starting anymore. When you connect power "Onda since" message comes and go away and comes back very quickly...

Use a better/more powerful power supply/charger.

At least a "real" 2A, otherwise it won't boot.

If this doesn't work, you have to solder the cable directly to the motherboard. (what I did)

I stripped  a usb cable, is it enough that I solder the red and the black cable on the batterycontactpoints on the circuitboard of the tablet (and so do nothing with the other cables that are inside a usb cable) ?

My most powerfull charger is a usb charger.
