Hi guys, battery life (as I presume with all of you) is killing me. I'm considering going with an upgrade, even though the soldering etc, is out of my comfort zone. What firmware are you on at the moment? With regards to the battery upgrade, what site do you recommend? Is there a guide on replacing the batteries in English? I know there's a Spanish guide knocking about. Sorry for the noon questions!

Hi Guys,
Bought a battery from Actablet.
Fitting was a dream. Just unsolder old unit and sold in new.
Stuck it down with double sided tape.
They say it is 1200MAh so when I turn it on it shows like 14h useable battery life.
I will update you soon after prolonged use.
ie: will give it to my kids to play games on full colour max res and see how we go.

Great stuff, how much did it cost for the Onda v972 battery? I also gether it is a twin battery, could be wrong, hopefully it goes like a dream, awaiting your up-date.

The battery is the same as the original. Dual Battery.
The price is around $35us plus post but it make the tablet more useable.
It is prewired so its an easy swap.
Just be careful and don't short anything.

Well, I did the battery replacement today (as suggested by nut scratch). Its not simple , but not dramatically hard either. The battery is slightly larger than the original, and the lead wires are a slightly larger gauge. Â I'll post in a few days to give my impressions of battery life

Got a replacement battery from aliexpress, I'm getting 7-8 hours of constant, Wi-Fi on, streaming/surfing/video, with days of standby. Its like a new tablet, shame they didn't put in a proper battery in the first place! That said, for €200 and €20 for the battery and a bit of relatively easy tinkering I didn't do too badly it must be said. As an aside is anyone else noticing that its slightly heavier with the new battery? No biggie but somewhat noticeable....

Hi guys, taken the plunge and sent for a new battery http://www.actablet.com/replacement-12000mah-battery-for-onda-v972-quad-core-a31-tablet-pc_p5327.html could have used Aliexpress a little cheaper but was going to take weeks actablet seems to be a quicker, will up-date you when install (when I get it)..  🙂
Ok m8's, finally got the time & guts to go through and install the new battery.. few took me around 25 minutes, it was hell trying to remove the original one, bent the battery bigtime to try & get it out, but succeed. Â Un-soldered the old, install the new, a few mm bigger than the original but soldered new in. Â Lined up as best as can, re-attached the cover, 4 screws in. Â Lets see if it works, I resigned myself to the possibility that this is not going to work! attached the power to charge & guess what, the green battery logo came up I will report tomorrow about this time on the success or not if it truly works, wish me luck
Up-date:- Well complete install battery from last night, just this minute powered on, work like a charm. Â We will see how long the battery life is in a day or so with full use. Â Up-date again then. Â So happy

Hi Guys! First time Poster. Ive been checking out the posters and find I am not alone with these problems. I too own an ONDA V972 and I think it a good tablet. Using some of the links for pricing on a new Battery I found this by shopping around at aliexpress at a cheaper price, especially at the current exchange rate from USD to AUD. This might help those a little more cash strapped. http://www.aliexpress.com/item/3-7V-12000mAH-44105186-4493105-2-polymer-lithium-ion-battery-for-LG-Li-ion-battery-for/1578127291.html

Some people replaced the battery, post it here and promise to give their experience a few days later.
But none of them did.
So guys, please let us know if the new battery and the tablet still work well and long ?
Or did it explode ?
And if someone knows a detailed description of replacement (with image and or movie) please give the link.
Thanks in advance

Hi guys
Things you need:
Torx Precision Screwdriver about (1.5mm) ((Jackly JK 6089) thats what's on the box)
Guitar Plectrum or plastic disposable knife or something about as thick
Double Sided Tape
Soldering Iron and Solder
A plate or something to put your screws in (they are very small)
Received the battery about 4 weeks ago and have only got around to changing it over. I ordered a 12000mAh battery and installed it. Piece of cake. The trick is you must use the special torx screwdrivers. I ordered mine through Ebay. Its just a simple case of undoing the screws. Make sure your SD card is removed first otherwise you will snap it in half. Run your thumbnail around the inside casing to loosen it as there are little plastic holders that snap lock in. If your thumbnail isn't long enough use a guitar plectrum or something similar to the thickness maybe a plastic disposable knife. That should loosen it. Keep trying until the casing comes away. You might have to do it a few times if it doesn't come away the first time. Once it is off use a plastic ruler or old credit/store card to carefully pry underneath the battery as it is adhered to double sided tape. Take note where the red and the black wire is located and its a simple case of removing the old battery and soldering in the new one. Once that is in you need to stick it down with double sided tape which you can find at any supermarket, hardware or newsagent. Turn it on to see if it is working. If it is then put it all back together firmly pushing down the sides to lock those plastic holders back into place and then screw it back up and off you go.
I put it straight on charge. The Missus uses Facebook and plays Candy Crush a lot and she is getting a solid 4 to 4 and a half hours out of it.
I hope this helps and my descriptions are not too vague. However, I did watch a couple of you tube videos first to make sure I was doing it right. Try these
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMqEH9930xM (this is for the Onda V811 but the process is still the same)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lACw0cjCH6I
I know there are others but these should give you an insight
