Hi guys! first of all thank you for the work you do!
i have an Onda v818 mini (A31S quad core), i’ve tried to flash it and the format dialogue box appeared, i started the format, it was all fine before the usb cable fell out of the port on the tablet and everything shut down. after this i failed to initiate the flsh mode back again, gave it a few attempts but the tablet just stays power off and doesn’t react at all. What can i possibly try to do?
thanks in advance!

Try pressing power button for 20 seconds, then start the flashing process again (i.e. pressing the home button while inserting usb cable.

Thank you, recovery back my mini v818 already.

have you try reflashing the tablet ?

and make sure choose the format mode everytime flashing the tablet.

---

i found this latest firmware indeed faster than before, aside from only 1gb ram, now the performance is acceptable, and usable for daily...

No news, at least on my side.

Been very busy with other firmwares, but it's still in the TODO list, I'll hopefully have some time soon to check again.

Cheers.

Hello friends

First of all I want to thank you for your work and for sharing it with us, thank you really.

I wanted to make a suggestion or request, and that is whether the recovery would be possible to add the following:

- Wipe cache dalvink
- Wipe battery stats
- Fix permissions

A greeting

Admin after the bluetooth support, are there any other cool features planned?

For example if you get bluetooth working, does that mean that certain OTG stuff also works?

What about CP2102 support, which could be used for external gps's:  https://github.com/HvB/UsbGps4Droid

The link above is some interesting project.

Or maybe using cp2102 for programming arduino boards (Arduino commander app from the GCS): http://anettosoftware.co.uk/ac.php

Here is also a similair thing (a usb-serial library, but I dunno if its for system, maybe its app related):

https://code.google.com/p/usb-serial-for-android/

http://www.basic4ppc.com/forum/additional-libraries-classes-official-updates/28176-usbserial-library-2-0-supports-more-devices.html

Maybe support for a gamepad?

This are just idea's I'm not pushing you into something :D

Thanks for your work so far, I'm using the ROM now daily a lot for quite some time and I gotta say its really smooth, I'm really enjoying my tablet now. Thanks!

I haven't had much results so far trying to get USB bluetooth dongles to work. This is my current priority as hardware support for tablets running on Allwinner A31 processor, but I'm quite busy at the moment tweaking Rockchip RK3188 based tablets so I don't know yet when I'll have time to work on btusb again.

Your other suggestions are interesting, but it's very specific stuff that not a lot of people have use of.

If Allwinner/Onda comes a new firmware available, I'll probably take care of that quite quick, but Bluetooth support will probably take some time.

Cheers.

Thanks for the answers,... Yea I kinda like the specific stuff I guess hehe...For example besides using bluetooth for sharing files etc. like "normal users", I'm going to also use it to connect to my autopilot and configure it -> on a rc model (display model on map, display gps data from model and data from its gyro's and accelerometers,..etc)..

A tablet should make for a sweet "groundstation" for my autopilot rc plane experiments.

Cheers!

Has anyone got the HDMI port thing to work?

And if so, how? Is there a setting to enable it?

i thought i'm the only one with non-working hdmi port :P

my chuwi v88 have hdmi option in setting to toggle it, and set resolution in zoom, that is missing in v818

Hello Admin / All,

My first post here :) I want to flash with the posted ROM, but i am a bit afraid before doing it. I already updated my Onda v818 with the official release for 4.2.2 via the integrated Update App / Settings. Now it shows on Firmware version - v3.0_v1 and also the date shown at Build Number is 24th of May and the release here is from 22nd so i am asking will this one work on my tablet or i have to wait :)

Thank you.

Based on the dates and version number, it seems your firmware is similar to the one we used to make the custom firmware, I'm just not sure if Onda rebuild on V3.0 on the 24th... and the one I used was an earlier build.

I'll wait for next important firmware release from Onda to rebuild a custom firmware, if you are happy with your current firmware I don't think there's a real need to flash right nowWink
